The Observer editor suggests that travelers looking for a destination in Vietnam to enjoy local street food, surfing, and visit UNESCO-recognized historical sites should consider stopping in Da Nang .

Da Nang, a leading tourist city in Vietnam, is considered modern and boasts a rapid pace of tourism development. In the first nine months of the year, Da Nang received 1.6 million international visitors, more than 5.8 times higher than the same period in 2022, and equivalent to 67% of the figure for the same period in 2019, according to data from the Da Nang Department of Tourism.

There are now many direct flights from popular tourist destinations in Asia such as Taipei, Seoul, and Tokyo to Da Nang. International tourists can easily fly directly to this central Vietnamese coastal city instead of having to transit in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi.

From Da Nang, tourists can easily visit famous nearby tourist destinations such as My Son Sanctuary, Hoi An, and the ancient capital of Hue. These locations are all less than two hours' drive from Da Nang. Within the coastal city itself, there are also a variety of accommodations, restaurants, attractions, and tourist activities to explore.

The Observer suggests three high-end accommodations that tourists can consider when visiting the coastal city: Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Naman Retreat, and Fusion Suites Da Nang.

The first "must-see" destination when visiting Da Nang is My Khe Beach. A British newspaper noted that while many hotels in the city have private beaches, tourists should definitely visit My Khe Beach. This location is described as a bustling public white-sand beach right in the heart of the city. Here, visitors can participate in activities such as jet skiing, surfing, and windsurfing. It's advisable to ask your hotel to book these beach activities to ensure you're using a reputable provider.

Another recommended attraction is Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula, about 10 km from the city center. The highlight there is the 67-meter-tall statue of the Goddess of Mercy. The British newspaper advises visitors to Son Tra Peninsula not to feed monkeys if they encounter them.

Marble Mountains (Ngũ Hành Sơn) is also an impressive tourist attraction in Da Nang, suitable for visitors who enjoy hiking and admiring mountain scenery. The period from September to November offers cool weather with less intense sunshine, making it convenient to visit. Tourists should dress simply, respect the local culture, and may light incense to pray for good fortune.

Another famous tourist destination in Da Nang is Ba Na Hills, located at an altitude of over 1,500 meters above sea level. From here, visitors can visit the Golden Bridge, a "favorite check-in spot on Instagram".

The Observer suggests that tourists visit APEC Park, which houses the Da Nang Cham Sculpture Museum, preserving ancient Cham Pa cultural artifacts.

A trip to Da Nang wouldn't be complete without exploring its culinary scene. This British newspaper introduces both affordable local eateries and upscale restaurants in the coastal city. Modern restaurants include Nén Restaurant and Madame Lan, serving creatively reimagined Vietnamese dishes.

Recommended places to enjoy Quang noodles are Phu Chiem - Anh noodle shop and Nu Do Kitchen. Another famous place to enjoy banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancake) in Da Nang is Ba Duong banh xeo shop.

"Visitors can observe how locals make Vietnamese savory pancakes (banh xeo) on a pan. The pancakes come with fillings of meat, shrimp, or a combination of both," wrote an editor at the Observer.
