On the morning of February 4th, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Nhan Dan Newspaper, and the Vietnam Journalists Association jointly organized the Spring Press Briefing Conference for the Year of the Snake 2025.

Attending the conference was Nguyen Trong Nghia, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department.

Opening the conference, the Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Le Quoc Minh, provided information on some of the Vietnam Journalists Association's journalistic activities over the past year. According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, 2025 is a year of special significance, marking the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, the final year of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, and preparing for the 14th National Congress.

Reporting at the conference on press work for the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, Mr. Tong Van Thanh - Director of the Press and Publishing Department, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, stated that press agencies and television programs focused on reflecting the atmosphere of welcoming the New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, associated with the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam ; the results and achievements of 40 years of the country's Doi Moi (Renovation) process and 4 years of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party; many moving articles praising the contributions of the great President Ho Chi Minh; works in the press for the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025 expressed the joyful and optimistic atmosphere of confidence of cadres, Party members and the people in the revolutionary breakthrough policies and decisions of the Party; highlighting the faith, aspirations, will and strength of the great unity of the Vietnamese nation, and the current position and prestige of our country...

Many articles assessed the achievements of the country, of all levels, sectors, fields, and localities in 2024; emphasizing that with active, persistent, courageous, resilient, and creative efforts, the entire Party, people, and army united as one, overcoming all difficulties and challenges, achieving many important and fairly comprehensive results and achievements in various fields; the special editions of the Spring issue of the newspaper for the Year of the Snake were beautifully presented, rich in content, and reflected the major themes of the nation.

Delivering a keynote address at the conference, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the achievements of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press in the past year, along with many important events of the country. The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department affirmed that, during the recent Lunar New Year of the Snake, the press agencies strongly disseminated and inspired optimism and confidence, creating a joyful atmosphere and a determined spirit within the political system, among cadres, Party members, and the people, enabling our country to enter a new era, an era of national progress. In particular, during the recent 95th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the press highlighted the theme of the Communist Party of Vietnam's intellectual prowess, prestige, and innovation for national independence and socialism. At the same time, it emphasized the leadership and attention of the Party, the State, ministries, departments, localities, and all levels of government in effectively implementing social welfare policies and caring for the material and spiritual well-being of the people...

Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Nguyen Trong Nghia outlined the key tasks for the press in 2025: The press will be a tool to promote the dissemination of economic, cultural, and social tasks; to publicize the 14th Party Congress and Party congresses at all levels; to publicize 40 years of the Party's reform and innovation theory; to promote Resolution 18 more extensively and strongly; and to publicize the commemoration of major national holidays such as the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, and the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day, in which the press must strive to reach new heights in the new era... Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia also suggested that after the merger, press agencies with new functions and tasks should have specific operational plans.

In conclusion, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department quoted General Secretary To Lam's speech at the National Journalism Award Ceremony on Party Building: “The country's achievements in nearly 40 years of implementing the reform process are great. The new era is opening up a bright future for the nation. The new era also places new and higher demands on revolutionary journalism, requiring it to develop accordingly, to grow alongside the nation, and to be worthy of a professional, humane, and modern press. The public desires more and more truly outstanding writers and journalistic works of significant stature, conveying the great transformations of the Party and the nation, and possessing high political and ideological value.”
