Gen Z – the tech generation, the digital generation. They are young people who are reshaping how media operates, with more demanding requirements for content, speed, and multimedia experiences.

According to the latest survey by VietnamPlus (Vietnam News Agency), 83.9% of Gen Z access news via smartphones. They prefer short videos , vivid images, concise articles, and intuitive graphics. Social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and Zalo are occupying a large portion of young people's time, while traditional newspapers and television are gradually losing influence. Given the decline in traffic from older channels, what should news organizations do to develop new platforms, change their information production methods, and refresh content to continuously adapt and meet the news needs of young readers?

Faced with new challenges, on June 17th, VietnamPlus Online Newspaper organized a seminar titled "Journalism Attracting Gen Z with Creative Content" to bring together experts, journalists, and technologists to discuss strategies for reaching this new generation of readers – those who not only read but also interact with, select, and disseminate information in their own way.

At the seminar, delegates noted that proactively grasping trends, applying advanced technology, and innovating in content production and distribution to attract a diverse audience has become an urgent requirement.
