When will the Hue tourist train arrive?

On March 1st, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province held a meeting with the Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) regarding the implementation of the Hue - Da Nang tourist train service.

Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, said that in the past period, the locality has directed departments and agencies to assess and survey the current situation of transportation between Hue and Da Nang, the types of tourists and modes of travel; and worked with the Thua Thien Hue Tourism Association to discuss solutions for cooperation with VNR in operating the Hue - Da Nang train route.

Mr. Minh suggested that to implement the Hue-Da Nang tourist train service, it is necessary to assess and identify the main groups of tourists who will use this route as their means of transportation in order to choose a suitable implementation plan; and to study similar models to come up with a suitable solution.

The development of services for the Hue - Da Nang route must be differentiated, focusing on providing a unique train experience combined with tourism services along the route, on the train, and at destinations such as Hue, Da Nang, and Lang Co. Simultaneously, it should contribute to ensuring convenient transportation for people between the two localities.

Develop implementation plans to collaborate with tourism and travel businesses and related enterprises in both cities, creating a close partnership between VNR and Da Nang and Thua Thien Hue, as well as tourism and service businesses in both areas.

At the meeting, the relevant units focused on discussing issues related to operational cooperation plans, train operating capacity, passenger transport volume, plans for innovating products and services to improve food quality, enhance the quality of train carriages, and add entertainment services on board...

Mr. Dang Sy Manh, Chairman of the Board of Members of VNR, said that the deployment of the Hue - Da Nang tourist train meets the criteria of safety and comfort for passengers. This service is very suitable for families, allowing tourists to admire the scenery of mountains and coastlines…

According to Mr. Manh, the advantage of transporting passengers by rail on this route is that both Hue and Da Nang stations are located in the city center, with a large volume of domestic and international passengers needing to travel in both directions, making it convenient for passengers. VNR is ready to cooperate with tourism businesses to exchange ideas and develop the most optimal train operation and business plans to achieve the goals set by all parties.

During the meeting, the units and localities agreed on several plans and solutions to implement in order to soon put the Hue - Da Nang tourist train into operation by March 26th.
