Ahead of the final El Clasico of the 2024/25 season, which will be decisive for La Liga, David Beckham shared interesting information related to Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Beckham played for Real Madrid from 2003 to 2007, although Barca had been pursuing the legendary MU number 7 for a long time and was almost close to completing the transfer.

“My favorite team was always Real Madrid. It's funny because I was almost sold from Manchester United to Barcelona ,” Beckham told CBS Sports.
Beckham added: “I was on holiday when Peter Kenyon (Manchester United's CEO, who later worked for Chelsea and Atletico Madrid) called and said the club had accepted an offer from Barca.
I told him straight: 'If you are going to sell me, the only club I am willing to go to is Real Madrid'.
I've always dreamed of playing for Real Madrid since I was a kid. I don't think I'll ever leave United, but if I have to go, I want it to be for 'Los Blancos' .
In the summer of 2003, Real Madrid had two big targets: Beckham and Ronaldinho, stars of MU and PSG at that time.
However, the Spanish Royal Club could not arrange the finances and personnel to recruit both in the same year.
Meanwhile, Joan Laporta - who was recently elected president of Barcelona - also really wanted to recruit Beckham, to the point of making an official offer that was accepted by MU.
Beckham turned down Barcelona and signed for Real Madrid, and not long after Ronaldinho joined the Catalan team, not wanting to stay at PSG any longer.
Time has proven Ronaldinho right: at Barca, Ronnie won two La Liga titles, one Champions League and the Ballon d'Or. He helped Lionel Messi mature to open a proud page in Blaugrana's history.
