Mr. Pham Duc Tam, officer in charge of the project, Dat Phuong Group Company (construction contractor) said: "Since yesterday (September 11), the contractor has gathered all the machinery and equipment to dismantle the old Sa Dec bridge.

Therefore, since early this morning, workers have started to carry out the assigned work. The old Sa Dec Bridge was dismantled starting from the middle span and expanded to both sides of the bridge.

Although the weather conditions today are not favorable due to rain, the contractor still organized workers to work continuously on the construction site.

At the construction site, the company has arranged many specialized equipment and machines to carry out the dismantling of the old bridge. It is expected that by the end of today, workers will complete the dismantling of the railing on the bridge.

Currently, the contractor temporarily gathers waste materials at both ends of the bridge. Afterwards, the contractor will gather them at a previously prepared waste material yard with an area of ​​0.5 hectares.

According to Mr. Tam, the old Sa Dec bridge is expected to be dismantled in 90 days. After completion, the contractor will begin construction of the first items related to raising the clearance of the new bridge.

As planned, after being gathered at the yard, depending on the purpose, the contractor and related units will select waste materials to destroy or dispose of.

Ensure traffic safety

Starting yesterday, the contractor and related units opened the temporary bridge to traffic. The purpose of this is to divert traffic and ensure safety during construction.

Before the temporary bridge was opened to traffic, the contractor had fully completed all items as required by the Department of Transport of Dong Thap province.

In particular, the contractor installed a pillar right in the middle of the temporary bridge to limit the passage of motor vehicles, including three-wheeled motorbikes. This still ensures the safety of two-wheeled vehicles when crossing the bridge.

The contractor is urgently carrying out the work of raising the clearance of Sa Dec bridge. At the same time, traffic safety work is also being carried out in accordance with regulations.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc (50 years old, living in Sa Dec city, Dong Thap province) said that he and his family often have to travel near the construction site.

"My house is on this side of Sa Dec bridge, and Nang Hai market is on the other side of the bridge. Therefore, to get food, I have to go to the market every day, but when I pass by the safety barrier and traffic control, I feel secure," said Mr. Phuc.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang (27 years old, living in Sa Dec city, Dong Thap province) - a truck driver shared: "In the past, I often transported goods across Sa Dec bridge. Now the old bridge is being dismantled for construction of a new one, so I follow the traffic diversion direction. I think this traffic diversion does not affect travel much and also ensures safety."

Sa Dec Bridge in Sa Dec city (Dong Thap) has a total land area to be recovered of 1.51 hectares, with a total of 83 households being compensated.
