On November 21st, consumers at Lotte supermarket in Ho Chi Minh City were surprised to see durian products from Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group – founded and chaired by Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc (Chairman Duc) – on the shelves. Previously, Hoang Anh Gia Lai durian was exported to China, so few people had the opportunity to taste it.
To date, the durian season in the Central Highlands – the growing region of Hoang Anh Gia Lai – has ended, so there are no fresh fruits available, only frozen whole durians and frozen peeled durian segments in limited quantities.
In addition, Hoang Anh Gia Lai also supplies Lotte Mart with two flagship products produced exclusively for them: Daily highland bananas, branched highland bananas, and pork fed on highland bananas.

Hoang Anh Gia Lai's bananas and durians are grown in the Bolaven Plateau - Laos and Pleiku - Gia Lai, meeting GlobalGAP standards.
During the first week of sales, from November 21st to 30th, Hoang Anh Gia Lai offered discounts of up to 50% on frozen bananas and durians.

"The launch of new product lines at Lotte Mart marks a step forward in our strategy to expand our distribution portfolio, bringing green and sustainable products closer to tens of millions of Vietnamese households."
"This also demonstrates Hoang Anh Gia Lai's closed-loop circular production model, from banana cultivation – raising pigs fed on bananas – processing by-products for re-cultivation, ensuring high quality, safety, and environmental friendliness," a representative from Hoang Anh Gia Lai stated.
Regarding durian, Hoang Anh Gia Lai currently has 2,000 hectares, and the company will continue to plant new trees, with the target of reaching 3,000 hectares by the end of 2027.
According to Mr. Duc, the company is planning to invest in building a cold storage system for freezing durian, with a total warehouse area of 20,000m², along with three durian processing factories located in Laos and Vietnam.
