(gialai.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of August 19, in Hoi Phu ward, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association held the Closing Ceremony of the first Gia Lai Province Sculpture Creation Camp in 2025 and inaugurated the sculpture cluster "Land and People of Gia Lai". Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Huu Que - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Siu Trung - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Painter Luong Xuan Doan - Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association. Also attending were representatives of departments, branches, sectors, units and localities in the province; sponsors, sculptors participating in the Creation Camp, members of the Arts Council and a large number of members of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association.

At the ceremony, Meritorious Artist Dang Cong Hung - Chairman of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, Head of the Organizing Committee said that Gia Lai is a majestic highland land, carrying within itself the soul of the great forest, of the legendary epics, of the echoing sound of gongs, of million-year-old volcanoes and lakes as green as jade eyes... These materials have today been crystallized into emotional sculptures, blending with nature and life. The first Gia Lai Provincial Sculpture Creation Camp in 2025 attracted the participation of 34 sculptors from many provinces and cities across the country. The Organizing Committee received 54 artistic sketches with diverse styles and creativity. Through a serious appraisal process, the Art Council selected the 14 best works. Each work has its own nuances, but all are imbued with the Central Highlands and suitable for the community space.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que emphasized: This is the first typical cultural and artistic event after the merger, a pioneering activity to bring art to public spaces, opening a new direction for improving the urban landscape and promoting the image of the province. At the same time, he acknowledged and praised the Gia Lai Provincial Literature and Arts Association, which initiated, organized and persistently pursued this idea, with all funding being socialized.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his deep gratitude to the sculptors, who have devoted all their passion, talent and sympathy to Gia Lai to create works that are both rich in aesthetics and contain the local spirit. In particular, many authors from other provinces and cities have traveled far, devoting all their time, energy and affection to this land. That shows the love of art associated with the love of people and homeland of Gia Lai. At the same time, he sincerely thanked the businesses and sponsors who have accompanied and contributed both materially and spiritually, joining hands to build a more beautiful and meaningful urban space. This cooperation is not only to support an event, but also a long-term investment in the cultural appearance of the city and of Gia Lai homeland.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Que hopes that today's event is just the beginning, we will continue to expand public art activities, renovate and renew urban spaces, so that every street corner, park, square... can become an address, a cultural meeting place. Along with respecting and preserving the works at Suoi Hoi Phu, we will continue to call for social resources, invite more talented artists, so that Gia Lai becomes a unique art destination of the region and the whole country. With the joint efforts of the government, artists, businesses and people, the Sculpture Garden at Suoi Hoi Phu will become a cultural highlight of Pleiku, a stopover for tourists from all over the world, and the pride of every citizen when introducing their homeland.
