Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc, Deputy Minister of Public Security , affirmed that the Ministry of Public Security is ready to allocate resources and focus on investing in modern equipment and machinery on par with developed countries for the Cardiovascular Institute; ensuring treatment and healthcare for officers, soldiers, and the people; and creating conditions for the institute to have sufficient resources and equipment to be on par with countries in the region and the world .
Professor Pham Manh Hung stated that the Cardiovascular Institute was established based on the comprehensive development of the Cardiology Department, in combination with a team of leading experts, lecturers, and doctors from the Cardiology Department of Hanoi Medical University.
This model of cooperation in medical examination and treatment, training, and research reflects innovative thinking in the organization of the police medical system in the new phase.
Currently, the National Institute of Cardiology is implementing advanced and groundbreaking techniques in the field of cardiovascular diagnosis, treatment, and intervention, such as: advanced cardiovascular diagnosis with artificial intelligence support; imaging and assessment of the physiological function of the heart and blood vessels within the vessel lumen; methods for intervening in congenital heart disease; complex coronary artery intervention; and treatment of complex arrhythmias with modern technologies such as 3D electrocardiographic mapping of the heart chambers, cryotherapy for atrial fibrillation, pulsed electrical field ablation, and other advanced techniques.
Vietnamese patients will have access to more cardiovascular treatment facilities with top-notch personnel and equipment, eliminating the need to seek treatment abroad.
"In Vietnam, we apply and implement all the most advanced techniques in cardiovascular treatment: emergency or specialized coronary interventions such as transcatheter valve replacement and transcatheter valve repair," Professor Hung said.
