A new digital rendering from designer Kelsonik is stirring up the car enthusiast community as it imagines a BMW M7 – the high-performance sedan the German brand never produced. Even though it's just an idea, this sketch of the all-new BMW M7 super sedan is enough to make fans dream of a real "M-generated" 7-Series, worthy of competing with the Mercedes-AMG S63.
For many years, it was a mystery why BMW never released an M7. The car company is famous for its sporty spirit, but is quite cautious when attaching the M logo to its flagship sedan. The same thing happened with the 8-Series E31, when BMW also refused to develop an official M8 version. However, Kelsonik's sketches show that if the M7 does come to fruition, it will be a true masterpiece. With a design inspired by the new M Performance language, the large sedan is completely "transformed" compared to the current 7-Series.
The front end has been dramatically tweaked with a more compact dual kidney grille, sporty matte black paint, and sharp monolithic headlights, replacing the current controversial split headlight design. The front bumper has been widened with large air intakes, a honeycomb central grille and black painted details, giving it a muscular, M-esque look. The body uses multi-spoke M wheels, glossy black window frames, and the rear is redesigned with slim LED taillights, a small spoiler and a sporty aerodynamic diffuser. All create a neat, seamless and powerful appearance. While the renderings have excited many, the chances of BMW actually releasing the M7 into production are slim. The current 7-Series is in the process of transitioning to the Neue Klasse design language and will continue to maintain the signature split-headlight design.
Not stopping at the sedan, Kelsonik also envisions a BMW X7 M version with a similar design – seamless headlights, a reshaped grille and a new front bumper. However, BMW is currently only planning to launch the electric iX7 M70, with more than 800 horsepower, instead of a “pure M” X7 M as expected. Video : Introducing the new BMW 7 Series 2026 model.
