Ministry of Public Security receives many ideas for competition on applying AI to digital transformation

On the afternoon of October 12, the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order (C06) of the Ministry of Public Security organized information about the "Data for Life 2024" contest. Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Director of C06, emphasized that, unlike previous years, the 2024 contest has officially expanded its scope internationally.

"This is the first time we have allowed teams to have international members, not just limited to Vietnamese citizens and overseas Vietnamese," said the Director of Department C06.

According to Department C06, among hundreds of submitted applications, the authorities screened 156 applications with high quality content, expected to bring unique and creative technological solutions to apply in practice.

In particular, many ideas participating in the contest demonstrate high practical applicability, from ideas on building digital government and digital society to topics on transportation, healthcare, education and social security.

Typically, the idea of ​​applying AI technology to detect and identify vehicles and license plates helps the police handle traffic violations. In this year's competition, many ideas on applying AI to digital transformation and information security were also promoted.

For example, the idea of ​​"3D facial data by age used to find missing people and prevent crime", or the contest topic "Application of AI to extract data from cameras and videos ".

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Vinh, Director of the National Population Data Center (under C06) affirmed that the above contest is a playground for all citizens and overseas Vietnamese to express their creativity and develop many technologies to apply in life.

In addition, this year's contest ideas have in common the application of artificial intelligence and data. The topics are highly applicable, closely following the contents and tasks of the Government's Project 06.

At the same time, the topics submitted to the Jury also closely follow the national population data system.

According to statistics from the C06 Department, in season 2, there were more than 370 applications registered to participate. After judging, the Organizing Committee selected 46 applications to enter the presentation round. Of these, 14 topics were from international teams such as Australia, Singapore, Korea, and Indonesia.
