In the area of the Hua Na hydroelectric reservoir, where the water surface is vast and has many deep branches, transportation depends entirely on boats. The Thong Thu Border Guard Post continues to regularly disseminate legal information to people making a living on the reservoir. Officers and soldiers of the post have directly visited each fish raft and met with each household to persuade and remind them of the law.

The Thong Thu Border Guard Station directly visited households to disseminate information.

The family of Mr. Lo Van Duc (born 1975) and his wife, Ms. Quang Thi Lan (born 1976), residing in Ang Dua village, is one of the households engaged in production on the Hua Na hydroelectric reservoir. The couple has been involved in fishing and cage fish farming for many years, their lives fluctuating with the water levels.

Right on the fish raft, the conversation between the soldiers and the locals unfolded simply and without distance. The discussion focused on the prohibition of using electric shocks and explosives for fishing – methods that might yield quick profits but would destroy resources and violate the law in the long run. In addition, the officers reminded the locals not to transport tourists without proper permits: boats must be registered and licensed, and operators must possess the required certifications.

Officers from Thong Thu Border Guard Station presented floating ponds and instructed local people on how to use them.

One point that has been repeatedly emphasized is ensuring safety when traveling on the lake. Many people are still careless and rarely wear life jackets. This time, the Thong Thu Border Guard Station donated life jackets to 6 households and also instructed them on how to use them correctly.

Having received a life jacket from the soldiers and been instructed on its use, Ms. Quang Thi Lan honestly shared: "Before, I was used to going out and was careless, rarely wearing one. Now that the soldiers have been raising awareness and reminding me, and even giving me a life jacket, I have to comply. Safety for myself and my family is paramount."

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Cong Thao, Deputy Political Officer of Thong Thu Border Guard Station, after direct awareness campaigns, many households have voluntarily committed to not using electric shock devices or explosives in fishing; awareness of complying with regulations when participating in traffic on the lake has also improved significantly.

Along with intensifying propaganda efforts among households in the lake area, the Thong Thu Border Guard Station has also strengthened border patrol and protection forces, educating people to strictly abide by border regulations, refrain from illegal border crossings, and ensure security and order in the area.

Chau Khe Border Guard Station is coordinating with other forces to intensify patrols.

Meanwhile, in Chau Khe commune, a border area with many potential security and order complexities, the Chau Khe Border Guard Post proactively coordinated with the Police and the Commune Military Command to organize mobile patrol teams operating day and night throughout the holiday. Each day, 2 to 3 patrol teams were maintained, both day and night, closely monitoring key routes and border areas, as well as areas at risk of security and order disturbances, to ensure the safety of the people during the holiday.

Night patrols on deserted forest roads or along remote villages require officers and soldiers to be constantly on alert and monitor the situation. In addition to controlling the area, the task forces also combine patrols with public awareness campaigns, reminding people to be vigilant and strictly abide by the law.

Lieutenant Colonel Bui Nguyen Bac, Commander of Chau Khe Border Guard Station, said: "Along with strengthening forces to protect border sovereignty and security, during holidays, the number of people traveling increases, so we have to be even stricter. Our officers are determined to be responsible, constantly monitoring the area, and not being complacent to ensure security and order."

Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station coordinates efforts to ensure security at tourist attractions and sites.

Along the border, border guard units maintain a 24/7 presence to ensure security and order, and to safeguard border sovereignty and security during the holidays.

Without fanfare or ostentation, from propaganda sessions on floating rafts in the middle of Hua Na Lake to nighttime patrols in Chau Khe, all demonstrate the proactive and responsible spirit of the Border Guard forces on the front lines. Amidst the bustling holiday season, they maintain their own quiet but steadfast rhythm on the nation's frontier.
