Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs speaks out about series of explosive devices causing casualties in Lebanon

(VTC News) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated Vietnam's response and information on citizen protection work in several Middle Eastern countries after a series of explosions that caused many casualties in Lebanon.
At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 19, answering a reporter's question about Vietnam's response to a series of explosive devices that caused thousands of casualties in Lebanon, spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated: "Vietnam is closely following and is deeply concerned about recent developments in the Middle East. Vietnam calls on relevant parties to exercise restraint, end conflicts, increase dialogue, resolve disagreements by peaceful means, and comply with international law and the United Nations Charter for the benefit of the people and for peace and stability in the region and the world."

According to the latest information from the Vietnamese representative agencies in Egypt, Lebanon; Iran; and Israel, the situation of Vietnamese citizens in these areas remains safe and stable. The Vietnamese representative agencies in Egypt, Lebanon; Iran; and Israel continue to closely coordinate with local agencies to closely monitor developments and situations, proactively develop and implement citizen protection plans, including plans to evacuate citizens from dangerous areas. For Vietnamese citizens in the above countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that they regularly monitor information from local authorities as well as warnings from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative agencies in the localities to respond promptly. Ms. Hang emphasized that in case of needing help, Vietnamese citizens should call the citizen protection hotline of the Vietnamese representative agencies in the above countries, as well as the citizen protection hotline of the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
