Ministry of Defense mobilizes helicopters to bring relief goods to flood victims in Nghe An

Faced with severe flooding in the western part of Nghe An province, on the morning of July 24, the Ministry of National Defense mobilized helicopters to carry out emergency relief missions for isolated people.

Due to the impact of storm No. 3, many important traffic routes in the area were cut off. National Highway 7A - the main artery connecting the western communes of Nghe An province - suffered serious landslides, many sections were deeply submerged in water, traffic was completely paralyzed, and rescue forces could not access by road...

On the morning of July 24, the Air Defense - Air Force dispatched a Mi 171 helicopter to take off from Hoa Lac Airport (Hanoi) to Vinh Airport (Nghe An) to carry out a relief mission. The flight carried food including instant noodles and bottled water in sufficient quantity. After landing at Vinh Airport (Nghe An), the crew will continue to receive additional food supplies prepared by Military Region 4. The plane is expected to fly to Tuong Duong, Nghe An, which is completely isolated due to heavy floodwaters after Typhoon No. 3 Wipha swept through.

Mi-171 aircraft number 03, piloted by Major Vuong Dinh Long, Squadron Leader of Squadron 1; Colonel Nguyen Ba Duc, Deputy Regiment Commander, Chief of Staff of the Regiment, co-pilot, along with crew members and rescue forces, took off from Hoa Lac Airport (Hanoi) to Nghe An to carry out the rescue mission.

On the same day, Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh, Commander of Military Region 4, and his working delegation quickly moved by helicopter (carrying many essential supplies) to direct forces to overcome the consequences of the flood and share the difficulties with the people of western Nghe An.

The second flight has just taken off from Vinh airport. The Nghe An Provincial Military Command continues to send more troops to the West to help people overcome the consequences of floods.
