
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung and his delegation came to congratulate the 16th General Assembly of the Vietnam Bishops' Conference, term 2025-2028
On the afternoon of October 9, Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, as Head of the delegation, came to congratulate the 16th General Assembly of the Vietnamese Bishops' Council, term 2025-2028, at the Bishop's House of Da Lat Diocese ( Lam Dong ).
The delegation included Head of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vu Hoai Bac, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nguyen Cao Thinh. On the local side, there were Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Vo Ngoc Hiep, Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Bui Huy Thanh...
The delegation was received by Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang - President of the Vietnam Bishops' Council, Archbishop of the Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese; Archbishop Joseph Vu Van Thien - Vice President of the Vietnam Bishops' Council, Archbishop of the Hanoi Archdiocese; bishops in the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Bishops' Council for the 2025-2028 term; Cardinal Nguyen Van Nhon and 29 bishops from 27 dioceses nationwide.
At the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung congratulated the Vietnam Bishops' Council and expressed his appreciation for the positive contributions of dioceses, parishes and religious people across the country in recent times to the overall development of the country.
At the same time, the Minister also congratulated and appreciated the parish, church, and bishops for guiding religious people to live a good life, respect God, and love the country.
The Minister said that although the world has many complex fluctuations such as wars, natural disasters, and floods, Vietnam still maintains stable economic development, increases per capita income, maintains macroeconomic stability, overcomes difficulties for national development, and creates a foundation for striving and laying the foundation for double-digit economic growth in the coming years.
The Party and State have carried out administrative reforms, reducing administrative boundaries from 63 to 34 provinces and cities. Despite difficulties, the Party and State have still made efforts to improve people's lives, especially in remote and isolated areas and religious communities.
The Minister highly appreciated the contributions of the Catholic Church of Vietnam in social activities, especially in supporting people in difficulty and those affected by natural disasters. At the same time, he emphasized that regardless of whether they are religious or not, they all share the same homeland of Vietnam and unite to build the country to become more and more developed.

It is the duty of Bishops to do their utmost to orient Catholic compatriots spiritually, develop morality, and preserve the traditional cultural values of the nation.
On behalf of the Vietnam Bishops' Council, Archbishop Giuse Nguyen Nang thanked the Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and leaders of Lam Dong province for coming to congratulate the congress, and sent wishes of health and peace to the delegation.
Archbishop Giuse Nguyen Nang expressed his joy at the country's socio-economic achievements, especially the policy of free tuition, health check-ups for people, and ensuring social security.
He affirmed that the bishops focus on spiritual orientation, moral development, preserving national cultural values, and wishing to contribute to building a stable and sustainable country.
