The 2024 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers will take place from September 4 to 12 with a total of 43 participating teams divided into 11 groups (10 groups of 4 teams and 1 group of 3 teams), competing in a single round-robin at a centralized location, selecting the 11 top teams in each group and the 4 second-place teams with the best results in the groups, along with host Qatar, to participate in the final round taking place in May 2024.

Previously, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) also identified 11 countries to host the qualifying round including Bahrain, China, Indonesia, Jordan, South Korea, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

The 2024 AFC U23 Championship will take place from April 15 to May 3, 2024. The results of this tournament will also be counted for the 2024 Paris Olympic qualifiers. Accordingly, the top 3 teams in the 2024 AFC U23 Championship will automatically qualify for the Olympics, while the losing team in the third-place match will play a Play-Off with another team in Africa to compete for the final ticket.
