Ca Mau: Tornado causes 15 houses to collapse and roofs to be blown off

On July 30, in Vinh Phuoc commune, Ca Mau province, a tornado occurred, causing 3 houses to collapse completely and 12 houses to lose their roofs. Previously, on July 28, in Ninh Thanh Loi commune, Ca Mau province, a tornado also injured 2 people, caused 5 houses to collapse completely and caused 17 houses to lose their roofs.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoang, Chairman of Vinh Phuoc Commune People's Committee, said that the locality has mobilized local forces to quickly help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters, re-roof houses, repair damaged structures, and help affected households temporarily stabilize their lives.

Along with that, conduct statistics on property damage to promptly support households whose houses collapsed or had their roofs blown off due to the impact of storms.

Previously, at around 5:00 a.m. on July 28, in Xeo Dung hamlet and Nha Lau 2 (Ninh Thanh Loi commune, Ca Mau province), a tornado also occurred, causing 2 people to be slightly injured, 5 houses to collapse completely, 17 houses to have their roofs blown off, and many people's properties to be damaged.

After initially supporting 5 million VND for households whose houses collapsed, 3 million VND for households whose houses had their roofs blown off, Ninh Thanh Commune People's Committee proposed to provide emergency funding to rebuild houses for 5 households whose houses collapsed, support roofing sheets worth 30 million VND for households with 100% roofing damage, support roofing sheets worth 20 million VND for households with partial roofing damage.
