Top specialists provide free medical examinations to 1,000 people

(Dan Tri) - Leading doctors and experts from Bach Mai Hospital examined, provided health consultation, and provided free medicine to more than 1,000 people in Muong Te district, Lai Chau .


On March 29, a team of doctors from Bach Mai Hospital with leading experts in collaboration with Muong Te District Medical Center and Ka Lang Regional General Clinic organized medical examinations and provided free medicine to more than 1,000 households in the three communes of Ka Lang, Thung Lum, and Ta Ba (Muong Te District, Lai Chau).

Patients receive general examination, ultrasound, electrocardiogram and basic tests to screen and detect diseases early.

Doctors have discovered many common diseases in local people such as: Respiratory diseases (pneumonia, chronic bronchitis); cardiovascular diseases (hypertension, arrhythmia, risk of heart failure in the elderly); musculoskeletal diseases; eye diseases; malnutrition, anemia due to micronutrient deficiency in children...

In addition to prescribing and distributing free medicine, doctors have carefully advised people on nutrition, disease prevention, and basic first aid skills.

Dr. Doan Thu Tra, Chairman of the Bach Mai Hospital Trade Union, said that the program not only brings medical value but also conveys the concern and sharing of the health sector with people in remote areas.

"We hope to not only provide medical services but also help people raise awareness about health care. Hopefully, with these efforts, the people of Ka Lang will have a better life and more convenient access to health care in the future," said Dr. Tra.

Bach Mai Hospital said that the hospital has been implementing volunteer programs to improve the quality of health care for people in disadvantaged areas.

"Not only stopping at short trips, the hospital is also researching long-term support solutions to help people have more sustainable access to healthcare," informed the leader of Bach Mai Hospital.
