Benefits of green beans

Winged beans are a popular vegetable among many Vietnamese people. This vegetable is not only rich in nutrients but also has very effective applications in treating diseases. Thanh Nien newspaper, citing Boldsky, points out the following health benefits of winged beans:

Improve immunity

Winged beans are rich in vitamin C and vitamin A. Eating these beans helps boost the immune system and therefore supports the body in fighting off any infections and diseases. The vitamin C in this legume acts as a protective shield, warding off illness and protecting the body.

Weight loss support

Beans are healthy and low in calories. They also contain a good amount of fiber, which aids in healthy weight loss. Fiber and calories help maintain a feeling of fullness, thus reducing the chances of constant snacking that can lead to weight gain.

Benefits of pregnancy

Winged beans are a rich source of folate, and eating them in moderation is beneficial during pregnancy. They help support a healthy birth and prevent neural tube defects in newborns. Along with folate, the abundant iron content in this legume is beneficial as it reduces the risk of maternal anemia and low birth weight in infants.

Reduce inflammation

A significant amount of manganese in legumes helps reduce inflammation. The antioxidant properties in winged beans help reduce sprains or swelling, which is beneficial for those with arthritis, as it helps treat superoxide dismutase deficiency.

Improve eye health

According to studies, the thiamine content in legumes prevents vision-related problems. Regularly eating winged beans helps prevent the onset of problems such as glaucoma and cataracts. Thiamine has the ability to improve muscle and nerve signaling, which is crucial in the connection between the eyes and the brain.

Preventing diabetes

Studies have revealed that a combination of vitamin D and calcium works together to prevent the onset of diabetes by optimizing glucose metabolism in the body.

These two nutrients directly affect pancreatic cells, thus managing insulin secretion and blood sugar levels. By balancing blood sugar, winged beans help prevent diabetes.
