Which university did the valedictorians choose?

Of the seven valedictorians of the five traditional university entrance exam combinations, three chose Foreign Trade University and two studied at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Tran Nguyet Hang, valedictorian of group A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), Vu Hoang Luong Huy, valedictorian of group A01 (Math, Physics, English) and Pham Thi Van Anh, valedictorian of group D01 (Math, Literature, English), said they all chose the first choice to enter the Foreign Trade University.

Candidates register and adjust their university admission wishes before 5:00 p.m. on July 30. Wishes will be considered from top to bottom, independently of each other. If a wish is accepted, the following wishes will be automatically canceled. With the highest score in each combination, the valedictorians are sure to be admitted to the major in their first wish.

Nguyet Hang registered for Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Luong Huy chose Economics, both at the Ho Chi Minh City campus. Meanwhile, Van Anh studied at the Hanoi headquarters, majoring in Foreign Economics. All three registered for another choice, also at the Foreign Trade University.

For the past two weeks, Nguyet Hang has spent time studying English to prepare for the school's entrance exam. "I don't have any specific goals, I just hope to achieve the best results I can, because my English is not very good," Hang said.

Meanwhile, Van Anh often reads articles about the school written by former students. She is most interested in articles about peer pressure.

"In an environment with many talented people, if you don't stand out, it's easy to feel left behind. I was advised that this is inevitable, but try to focus on your own goals, don't be negative or too pessimistic," Van Anh said.

Nguyen Manh Thang and Nguyen Manh Hung, the two top students of block A00 with 29.35 points, both chose Hanoi University of Science and Technology, majoring in Information Technology. Both said they had carefully checked their registration information to ensure there were no errors or mistakes.

Thang said he had researched scholarships and school clubs. "I plan to join the student volunteer club, and if I have time, I'll join the sports club too," Thang said.

Mai Duy Anh Quan, valedictorian of block B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology) with 29.8 points, has decided to apply to Medicine at Hanoi Medical University.

"I am determined to become a doctor partly because I want to complete my mother's unfinished dream, as well as help many patients in difficult circumstances...", Quan told VnExpress on July 18.

Nguyen Viet Khoi Nguyen, valedictorian of block C00 (Literature, History, Geography) with 29.5 points, only has one wish to enter the Faculty of Economic Law, Hanoi Law University.

Khoi Nguyen said this has been his long-standing wish, so he doesn't have any other wishes. The male student said he is studying English to make it easier for him to enter school and have the opportunity to find a part-time job.

The high school graduation exam took place on June 28-29 with more than one million candidates. According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, after 20 days of opening the university admission system, more than 660,000 candidates have registered. The total number of wishes is 3.4 million, with each candidate registering for more than five wishes on average.

Currently, the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system has closed the registration and adjustment of wishes function. From July 31, candidates will pay the registration fee online. The expected university admission scores will be announced on August 22.
