According to a report presented at a province-wide online conference assessing the progress of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses just a few days ago, the entire province has completed 12,161 houses, reaching 82.3% of the plan; 2,619 houses are under construction; and support has been disbursed to 13,082 households with a total mobilized resource of over 1,584 billion VND.
Of the 166 communes and wards in the province, 125 have completed the construction of houses for poor and policy-beneficiary households; the remaining 41 localities are striving to complete the work every hour.
Over the past few days, we've seen many smiles in the media and on social networks. Smiles from the owners of new homes. Many said they "couldn't imagine" that a spacious, sturdy house would come to them so quickly, like a dream. They not only received financial support from authorities but also labor assistance from neighbors. Many families received essential items donated by local authorities and businesses, making their new homes even warmer and more welcoming.
Over the past few days, we've also seen many other smiles. The smiles of those who handed over the houses. Whether they represent the government, organizations, or businesses, they all share the same sentiment: to give the poor the "key to a secure home," enabling them to start anew in their lives.
A roof is defined not only as a place to shelter from the sun and rain, but also as a place to nurture hope and "anchor the soul." It is difficult for the poor and those facing housing difficulties to overcome their circumstances and rebuild their lives without a proper home. Our ancestors said, "A stable home is the foundation for a prosperous life," and now, many beneficiaries of government policies have found stable homes and are dreaming of a prosperous life thanks to this humane initiative and the urgent, responsible actions taken.
Regarding the recent directive on the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh set specific timelines for the nationwide program to eliminate temporary housing as follows: Before July 27, 2025, housing support for all families of war invalids, martyrs, and meritorious individuals must be completed; before August 31, 2025, 100% of remaining temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide must be completed, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of National Day. At the most recent online provincial conference assessing the progress of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Doan Anh requested the heads of Party committees and governments in the remaining 41 localities in the province to decisively direct and mobilize the entire political system, organizations, and forces to accelerate progress and strive to complete all house construction work before August 20, 2025. For some localities that committed to completing the task before July 20, 2025, it is necessary to uphold that commitment, creating a foundation for spreading the spirit of competition to complete the task ahead of schedule.
The timeframe set by Thanh Hoa province is earlier than the national average, as a commitment to bringing homes and peace to the people.
