According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam has approximately 79.8 million internet users, leading to a sharp increase in online fraud. The methods are becoming increasingly sophisticated, causing significant economic and psychological damage, with many cases resulting in losses of hundreds of millions to billions of dong through social media, emails, applications, and fake websites.

In light of this alarming situation, and to enhance understanding and equip individuals with the necessary skills for using the internet, thereby contributing to the identification and prevention of online fraud, the National Political Publishing House has published the book "Identifying and Preventing Online Fraud," edited by Nguyen Thai Binh.

The book "Identifying and Preventing Online Fraud" consists of two parts. The first part analyzes the current situation, causes, and common forms of online fraud. Through specific scenarios, readers can identify familiar tactics such as website impersonation, SMS fraud, phone fraud, etc., while also updating themselves on new fraud trends applying digital technology and artificial intelligence.

The second part focuses on solutions and skills for preventing and combating online fraud. From protecting personal information, using strong passwords, and two-factor authentication to the habit of verifying information before transactions, the book guides readers to proactively build a "shield" to protect themselves. The recommendations are presented clearly, are easy to apply, and are suitable for a wide range of audiences.

With practical analyses, "Identifying and Preventing Online Fraud" aims to raise public awareness, foster safe internet usage habits, and build a healthy and sustainable online environment.
