Fire breaks out in a 10th-floor apartment in Ho Chi Minh City, over 100 residents flee.

In the early hours of May 25th, a fire broke out at the Nam An apartment building on Dinh Bo Linh Street, Binh Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, causing over a hundred residents to panic and evacuate to the ground floor.

According to initial reports, at approximately 5:40 AM on the same day, many residents living in the apartment building suddenly heard several small explosions occurring in quick succession. A few minutes later, flames and thick black smoke rose from an apartment on the 10th floor, near the rooftop of the building.

Upon discovering the fire, residents immediately shouted, activated the fire alarm, and quickly moved down to the ground floor via the emergency exits. Because the incident occurred early in the morning while many people were still asleep, the evacuation was chaotic.

According to one resident, after hearing an explosion and shouts of "fire, fire," they only had time to get their children to safety down the stairs. When they got outside, they witnessed a fierce fire raging, with thick black smoke engulfing the top floor of the apartment building.

At the scene, more than 100 residents, including many elderly people and children, gathered on Dinh Bo Linh street in a state of anxiety and panic.

Upon receiving the report, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Fire and Rescue Force dispatched numerous specialized fire trucks, ladder trucks, and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to extinguish the fire.

Authorities used water hoses from multiple directions and deployed ladder trucks to access the burning apartment to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring apartments. By approximately 6:30 AM, the fire was largely under control.

Initially, authorities determined that the fire caused no casualties. However, many belongings and items inside the apartment were destroyed or severely damaged.

Because the incident occurred during the morning rush hour, a section of Dinh Bo Linh Street was blocked off for firefighting and scene investigation, causing localized traffic congestion.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the authorities.
