A mix of emotions at Hang Day Stadium.

TRANSFORMED AFTER THE INCIDENT

Just 10 minutes into the second half, a floodlight at Hang Day Stadium went out, compromising playing conditions. The stadium organizers decided to temporarily suspend the match to fix the problem. However, more than 30 minutes later, the organizers announced that the match would resume despite the lights not working. Another notable point in the match between Hanoi FC and Hai Phong FC was that visiting fans were not allowed into Hang Day Stadium due to a suspension. At the end of last season, during a match between the two teams, Hai Phong's unruly fans lit flares, resulting in a penalty from the VFF Disciplinary Committee.

A power outage at the Hang Day Stadium caused the match to be delayed for over 30 minutes.

The match at Hang Day Stadium yesterday was a dramatic back-and-forth affair. Hai Phong FC took the lead thanks to a header from Viet Hung. However, Hanoi FC fought back with a brace from Joel Tagueu. This was also the score before the match was stopped due to a lighting issue. When the match resumed, the visiting team completely transformed and equalized 2-2 thanks to a goal from Hoang Nam. Earlier, after consulting VAR, the referee decided to award Hanoi FC a penalty, but Van Quyet missed it.

Referee Tran Ngoc Nho consulted VAR.

Van Quyet missed the penalty.

Lucao sinks his former team.

For the remainder of the match, Hang Day Stadium became a stage exclusively for Lucao – a former Hanoi FC player. The foreign player, who had previously played for Atletico Madrid's youth team and several European and Brazilian clubs, scored a hat-trick to give Hai Phong FC a 5-2 lead. Another foreign player who also scored a hat-trick in this emotional match was Joel Tagueu. However, his final goal only served to salvage some pride in Hanoi FC's 3-5 defeat at Hang Day Stadium.

Binh Duong Club was confident.

At the Quy Nhon stadium, visiting team Binh Duong couldn't field their strongest lineup due to Ngoc Hai's injury absence, but the new signings breathed new life into the former champions' playing style. Janclesio and Minh Trong helped the defense, considered the worst in the V-League, become more solid and significantly improved their attacking play. Hai Huy immediately demonstrated his value, giving Binh Duong their first high-class playmaker since Le Tan Tai to control the midfield rhythm. Coach Le Huynh Duc understood his resources and switched Binh Duong to a 4-4-2 formation, ensuring high balance.

Binh Duong FC's first goal of the new season came from a combination between two new signings, with Minh Trong taking a corner kick and Duy Thuong heading the ball into the net against Binh Dinh FC in the 16th minute. The way Binh Duong FC proactively controlled the tempo of the game, preventing the home team Binh Dinh from increasing their pace, was very impressive. The image of Arsene Elogo dribbling and crossing the ball for Sy Giap to seal the 2-0 victory was something that coach Le Huynh Duc hoped for from a team with both quality and quantity to adapt to different moments of the match. Certainly, Binh Duong FC's playing style will improve once the domestic players become more cohesive.

Also on October 29th, the remaining representative of Southern football, Ho Chi Minh City FC, earned one point after a 1-1 draw at Hoa Xuan Stadium against Quang Nam FC, helping the "Red Battleship" temporarily move to third place in the standings with 4 points.
