Imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's teaching, "Great unity is the mission of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Front officials are the ones who undertake that mission," the officials of the Hanoi Fatherland Front always bear in mind that, in order for the Front to fulfill its role as a place to gather the great national unity, it must be close to the people, listen to their voices, take the interests of the people as the goal of its movements and campaigns, and more importantly, have appropriate methods of mobilization and propaganda so that the people understand, believe, and implement.

With that perspective, Mr. Nguyen Huu Bang - Secretary of the Party Branch and Head of the Front Committee of Residential Area No. 3, Ngoc Khanh Ward, Ba Dinh District - has always been dedicated and responsible in his work with the Front. He has contributed to changing people's habits in ensuring environmental hygiene and building a civilized neighborhood.

At Alley 9, Dao Tan Street, in Residential Area No. 3, there was an unauthorized garbage collection point that existed for 20 years. On the sidewalk in this alley, scrap waste and household waste were constantly piled up day after day.

Recognizing that this was detracting from the appearance of Doi Can ward, the local authorities, in coordination with the Fatherland Front and community organizations, intensified efforts to raise awareness, encourage, and guide residents to dispose of garbage in designated areas. However, changing a habit that has existed for 20 years is not an easy task.

Every day, the unsightly images of the garbage dump were repeatedly reported to the ward authorities. Even the plan to add more garbage trucks proved ineffective as residents continued to dump garbage at irregular times. “Last year, on April 30th, the policy of eliminating garbage hotspots was reiterated. At that time, I boldly proposed the idea of ​​transforming the garbage dump into a sports field to benefit the community, hoping to raise residents' awareness,” Mr. Bang said. And Mr. Bang's idea has been realized. Now, the garbage hotspot in Alley 9, Dao Tan Street, has been “eliminated.”

Meanwhile, in Duyen Yet village, Hong Thai commune, Phu Xuyen district, Mr. Do Trong Thu, Party Secretary and Head of the Village Front Committee, is always a shining example, making many positive contributions to the work and patriotic emulation movements launched by the Front.

In his work, Mr. Thu always sought the leadership and guidance of the Party committee, effectively fulfilling his advisory role and coordinating well with the local government and organizations to implement grassroots movements. To date, Mr. Thu has mobilized people to donate land, money, and many days of labor to build rural roads in the village.

Evaluating the contributions of grassroots Front cadres, the Chairwoman of the Hanoi City Fatherland Front Committee, Nguyen Lan Huong, affirmed that, despite their varying ages and lengths of service, grassroots Front cadres are all dedicated, responsible, committed, creative, and persistent workers who are closely connected to the community.

They are crucial elements contributing to building, strengthening, and promoting the power of national unity in the new era. Therefore, in the coming time, the Fatherland Front at all levels needs to continue to pay attention to and create all conditions for Front cadres to work with peace of mind, strive, and develop their abilities and strengths.

"President Ho Chi Minh once advised, 'A living example is worth more than a hundred propaganda speeches.' Gaining a title, respect, and affection is difficult, but maintaining that title and affection is even more challenging."
