Front cadres on the 'front line'

In today's context, cadres must be good at economics , dynamic, creative in innovating business methods, bringing new business methods to the community. That is the story of exemplary cadres of the grassroots Front in the tea countryside of Thai Nguyen.

In recent years, Thai Nguyen has been one of the provinces with the strongest transformation in the North, becoming a midland and mountainous province with a solid socio-economic foundation. Major roads have been opened, rural areas have been renewed, urban areas have developed, and concentrated production has expanded.

In that common joy, there is the joy and pride of those who work for the Front. The Front brings policies to the people. The Front represents the voice of the people to complete the policies of the Party, the State as well as local Party committees and authorities. The more grassroots the Front is, the more lively its activities are. The more grassroots it is, the more difficult it is. Because every activity of the cadre is "known and discussed by the people".

With the development of media, even an ugly act of a Front official can be posted on social networks. But on the contrary, a typical example can also be spread quickly... In difficult situations, there is an easy way, if the Front staff at the commune level, the Head of the Front Work Committee in the residential area knows how to set an example and take the lead. Coming to Thai Nguyen today, we often hear stories like that.

Phu Luong is a mountainous district of Thai Nguyen. In the past, people's lives were difficult, travel was complicated, and business methods were old. Difficulties only remained behind when people dared to think and act.

Mr. Dam Van Thuy - Head of the Front Work Committee of Doi Che hamlet, Co Lung commune is such a person. He used to develop the brick-burning profession, but in 2014, during a visit to learn about the typical livestock model of a neighboring commune, he suddenly had the idea of investing in raising laying hens.

Determined to do it, he discussed with his wife and children, investing nearly 100 million VND to build a farm near his home and invest in breeding animals. Success did not come immediately without experience. He once lost tens of millions of VND in loans, but then started over again. With such perseverance, the flock of chickens gradually increased to hundreds, thousands, and tens of thousands.

In 2017, Mr. Thuy moved his family's livestock farm to a new location to both develop livestock farming and ensure environmental sanitation, continuing to invest in building a farm with an area of over 3,500m2 to raise laying hens, pigeons, raise bees for honey, grow tea branches and fruit trees.

Not only does he enrich his family, he also shares with the people in the village about his livestock model, supports farmers with breeds, techniques, and creates jobs for local workers to develop the economy and improve the lives of people in his hometown.

Sharing about the achievements in economic development, Mr. Thuy smiled modestly: If you want people to understand and follow, you must first be a pioneer, a role model. Currently, the whole village has only 2/225 poor households.

In addition, he also propagated and mobilized people in the village to contribute labor days and funds to purchase electrical equipment to light more than 2km of roads, and to join the people in keeping the environment clean, the village roads and alleys green, clean and beautiful...

Almost everywhere we went, we heard stories about such examples of the Front. Many people said that it was true that Front cadres had to be on the front lines of the “fronts”.

Having been involved in the work of the Front since 2005, Mr. Duong Van Thieu - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Duong Thanh Commune, Phu Binh District, is jokingly called by many people as "the multi-talented Front". Because in addition to always being exemplary and dedicated in his work, implementing the activities of the Fatherland Front towards residential areas, Mr. Thieu always focuses on mobilizing people in the commune to actively participate in labor and production to become rich, mobilizing people to participate in small-scale industrial and service cooperatives, vegetable and fruit cooperatives, livestock cooperatives; mobilizing people to contribute to building their homeland...

In every field of work, he has completed it excellently. Sharing his experience in the work of the Front, Mr. Thieu said that Front cadres must direct activities to the grassroots, hamlets and residential communities, well implement the democratic regulations at the grassroots level, all matters are brought to the table with the motto "people know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, people benefit", all work must take people as the main subject.

Mr. Thieu shared that being a cadre, especially a cadre of the Front, requires “thinking, seeing, listening, speaking, and doing”. He always understands this in his work. Over the years, he and the people in the commune have joined hands and unitedly built a new countryside, “weaving” a livable countryside.

Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Duong Van Tien said that although each grassroots Front cadre has different ways of expressing their methods and ways of doing things, they have one thing in common: they are imbued with and creatively apply Ho Chi Minh's moral ideology to the work of the Front, and are people who "think with their minds, see with their eyes, listen with their ears, walk with their feet, speak with their mouths, and work with their hands".

The work and contributions of the Chairman of the Commune-level Fatherland Front and the Head of the Fatherland Front Work Committee are truly important factors in building, promoting and consolidating the great national unity bloc in Thai Nguyen province. The cadres of the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province, especially the cadres of the Fatherland Front in residential areas, despite many difficulties, still work hard in the movements of "eating at home" taking care of village and commune affairs, wholeheartedly devoted to the people.
