Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that the National Press Awards is the most prestigious annual press award to honor authors and works with outstanding contributions to the development of the country's press.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the National Press Award approved by the Prime Minister is an event of special significance with the purpose of honoring journalism and journalistic activities, recognizing the contributions of the Vietnamese revolutionary press and honoring individual journalists with high achievements.
In 19 times of organization, the National Press Awards have attracted tens of thousands of high-quality press works and thousands of excellent works have been awarded. Among them, many works have been invested elaborately and carefully, have had widespread and profound impacts, contributing to orienting ideology, propagating policies, criticizing society, and spreading noble humanistic values throughout the country and abroad. Many award-winning authors have matured, become great journalists, and hold various leadership positions, many of whom take on important responsibilities in press agencies and some other important agencies of the Party and State.
The 19th National Press Award, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, with the spirit of "steel in the pen, fire in the heart", continues to demonstrate the development, growth, comprehensiveness, and all aspects of the Revolutionary Press, both in quantity and quality; with many creative press products, applying modern technology, effectively reaching the public; continuing to affirm itself as a prestigious award, an important professional forum, contributing to improving professional qualifications and fanning the flame of professionalism, bravery, courage, perseverance, dedication, contribution, and noble civic responsibility.
The Prime Minister expressed his belief that journalists and press agencies will continue to make efforts and be determined to innovate, adapt, and overcome, and produce more press works imbued with sweat, tears, and the breath of life, and continue to spread.
The Party, State, Government and Prime Minister always understand and direct the relevant agencies to focus on research, review, and have appropriate mechanisms, policies and solutions to promote the Revolutionary Press to develop more strongly and comprehensively, to better serve the revolutionary cause of the Party, State and People.

The Head of Government affirmed: In the journey of the nation's strong development, the Revolutionary Press plays a particularly important role, creating motivation, inspiration, arousing the desire for development, creating new, more beautiful and greater values for the country; fanning the desire for a strong, prosperous, and benevolent Vietnam; spreading that desire widely to all classes of people, throughout society, turning it into will, determination and action. This is a responsibility, a command of the times, the voice of the heart, of conscience and dignity of the Vietnamese people for the team of revolutionary journalists.
According to the Prime Minister, each press agency and each journalist must clearly recognize their own glory and noble responsibility. Promoting the glorious tradition of 100 years, the Revolutionary Press must always be an honest, objective voice, reflecting multi-dimensionally, comprehensively, and covering the flow of life; be a solid, tight, and effective bridge between the Party, the State, and the People; courageously fight against evil, toxicity, and negativity, while at the same time encouraging and spreading typical examples, good things, and profound human values in our society.

Revolutionary press must be a pioneer in grasping and applying modern technology to improve communication efficiency; proactively transform digitally, develop multimedia journalism, make the most of the power of the internet and social networks, digital technology to bring positive, objective, honest, accurate, timely information to the public in the fastest and most effective way, contributing to building a healthy, humane media ecosystem that serves the people.
Revolutionary press must be an open, receptive forum for people to express and share their thoughts and aspirations, give honest opinions, participate in social supervision and criticism, so that people's voices are heard and accepted, contributing to building a clean and strong political system, creating social consensus, and strengthening people's trust.
"Our country is entering a new era - an era of striving for prosperity, civilization and prosperity of the Vietnamese people. Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh and General Director of Vietnam News Agency Vu Viet Trang presented the C Prize to the winning authors.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the National Press Awards Council emphasized that the selection of works for the 19th National Press Awards from hundreds of thousands of printed, radio, television, electronic newspaper, press photos, multimedia press products, creative press from all levels of the Journalists Association, central and local press agencies in 2024 has filtered out nearly 2,000 high-quality works to participate in the Award, of which 128 best press works through two preliminary and final rounds will be honored to be awarded today.
With a high sense of responsibility, thorough discussion and accurate and impartial assessment of the works submitted to the Award, the councils selected the most excellent works, with high discovery, authenticity, and combativeness; valuable content, creative form; and influence and positive impact on the public, to award 13 A Prizes, 27 B Prizes, 49 C Prizes and 39 Encouragement Prizes for 13 categories of awards this year.
