Thieu Phuc Commune Party Committee leads the construction of a model new rural area

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Clearly identifying that new rural construction has no stopping point and is a regular and continuous task, immediately after being recognized as an advanced new rural commune in 2023, the Party Committee and government of Thieu Phuc commune (Thieu Hoa) continued to lead, direct, maintain and improve the quality of new rural criteria to improve the material and spiritual life of the people.

Advanced new rural construction and model new rural construction always receive the consensus and active participation of all classes of people in Thieu Phuc commune.

Coming to Vy Thon village today, we clearly feel the "change of skin, change of flesh" of a purely agricultural countryside that is developing strongly. In 2023, Vy Thon village was assigned by the commune to build a model new rural area. Based on the achievements of the new rural area, Vy Thon village's Party cell issued a specialized resolution on building a model new rural area. Party cell secretary and village head Le Van Quang said: "The village has focused on promoting propaganda and mobilization work with many diverse forms so that people clearly understand the purpose, mechanism and policies on building a model new rural area. Thanks to that, resources from the people and children far from home have been mobilized to invest in building infrastructure, expanding village roads, purchasing equipment and concreting intra-field roads".

Under the leadership of the Party cell, the activeness of socio-political organizations, the response of cadres and people, in 2023, Vy Thon village mobilized people to voluntarily donate 2,700m2 of land, contribute hundreds of working days, expand nearly 2km of roads from 3.5m to 8-9m, upgrade the football field, repair the village cultural house, install a lighting system... with a total cost of more than 4 billion VND. Some individuals who supported a lot such as: Mr. Le Van Than (Director of Thuan Dung Company Limited) donated nearly 1.5 billion VND to build a 500m long road along the Nam canal to the village, invest in upgrading the football field... New roads, cultural houses, medical stations, and spacious schools are proof of the spirit of solidarity and consensus of the whole community. At the end of 2023, Vy Thon village achieved the standard of a model new-style rural village, 1 year ahead of schedule.

With the participation of the entire political system, the journey of building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas in Thieu Phuc commune has been implemented promptly, closely, centrally and consistently from the commune to the villages. Up to now, Thieu Phuc commune has 4 villages recognized as model new rural villages. The villages in the commune have maintained the title of "Cultural residential area"; over 95% of families have achieved the title of "Cultural family"; 100% of villages have well implemented the regulations of the village covenant that have been amended and supplemented according to the new rural criteria. People's lives have been improved day by day, with an average income of 60 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate is only 0.18%; 100% of households are provided with clean water from the centralized domestic water supply system; 90% of households participate in waste classification and environmentally friendly organic waste treatment; Concentrated residential areas have wastewater collection and drainage systems, and wastewater is treated before being discharged into canals and ditches.

Secretary of the Party Committee of Thieu Phuc commune, Hoang Thi Phuc, said: “From the beginning, the Party Committee discussed and proposed solutions for the people to support and the policies must really come into life, becoming movements in all fields. In addition to issuing general resolutions, every year, the commune issues specialized resolutions, develops plans to implement appropriately for each village and field. In the process of leading the implementation of each model NTM criterion, the Party Committee and the government require each cadre and party member to truly be exemplary, core leaders, especially in difficult tasks such as donating land to build roads, mobilizing contributions... At the same time, assign each cadre, party member, and organization to be responsible for carrying out specific tasks; strengthen the work of mobilizing people to voluntarily implement".

The commune mobilized maximum local resources, combined with contributions and support from the people in the form of money, working days, land donation, and capital from programs to build economic- social infrastructure, advanced and model new rural areas according to the motto "do easy things first, do difficult things later", "rely on internal resources" with the support of the State as the driving force. Thereby, it created a spread of movements of land donation, road opening, rural landscape beautification, and model fence construction. The implementation of building a model new rural commune in Thieu Phuc has achieved many positive results thanks to the exemplary role of cadres, party members and the unanimous response of the people. In 2024 alone, the commune mobilized people to donate nearly 2,300 square meters of land, hundreds of working days to expand, contribute 15 billion VND to concretize more than 6km of rural roads, build 5.6km of drainage ditches, 4.8km of model fences... bringing the number of kilometers of concretized rural roads in the commune to 17.6km.

With synchronously developed socio-economic infrastructure, reasonable economic structure, innovative production forms, improved material and spiritual life of the people, green - clean - beautiful ecological environment, and maintained rural security and order, Thieu Phuc commune has basically completed the criteria of a model new-style rural commune.
