1000-year-old pagoda in Hanoi with unique architecture receives world record

One Pillar Pagoda was recognized by the World Record Union as one of the thousand-year-old Buddhist architectural works, symbolizing Hanoi. It was recognized as a national historical and architectural relic in 1962; and set a Vietnamese and Asian record as "The pagoda with the most unique architecture".

The One Pillar Pagoda has an architectural style with only one small wooden pagoda located on a large stone pillar. This is one of the most famous and mentioned pagodas in Vietnamese history as well as in the Vietnamese and international research community.

The pagoda is located in the middle of Linh Chieu Lake, which is as beautiful as a giant lotus flower. The pillars of the pagoda are built with only 2 stone pillars stacked on top of each other but are extremely sturdy. Above is a support for the Lotus Platform, designed with wood in a square shape with each side being 3 m long and a large wave barrier surrounding it.

The roof of the One Pillar Pagoda is covered with red brick tiles, with four corners curved up to the sky. The image of two dragons placed on the top of the roof is a symbol of "two dragons facing the moon" with a strong oriental culture symbolizing fertility and the harmony of yin and yang. With its extremely unique architecture, this place has become a spiritual and cultural destination not to be missed when visiting the thousand-year-old capital of Hanoi.

It is known that priest Ta Huy Hoang is a researcher and has compiled more than 100 books for teaching and research on the Bible, theology, language, pastoral care... in Vietnamese and English, serving Vietnamese Catholics.

The book series Lagam: Looking back on 25 years... was compiled by the priest in 26 years, including 5 main topics: CIVEL Textbook; Pastoral ministry: Understanding and living faith - trust - love...; Stones still need each other; Application to communication; Pastoral theology: Leadership and management... in Vietnamese and illustrated in English. The work has a total capacity of more than 30,000 printed pages, combined with 16,000 supporting clips on the author's YouTube channel.

Previously, in 2023, Father Ta Huy Hoang was recognized as the world's first priest to compile and publish a set of books on vocational pastoral language "Understanding and living faith - hope - love...", contributing to the vocational pastoral master's training program at the Vietnam Catholic Academy.

The book series Lagam: Looking back 25 years... includes 4 major categories with massive data, considered an important pastoral theology textbook serving the master's program in pastoral ministry at the Vietnam Catholic Academy in particular, and all professions in life in general.
