Mr. Dinh has a stout figure, tanned skin, and a smile that is always on his lips. Whenever he talks, his voice is clear, his eyes are bright and friendly, exuding abundant energy and a rare optimism. As a village Front cadre, he is always proactive in grasping the situation, listening to the people's thoughts to promptly advise, propose and organize practical support activities.
As soon as the storm had passed, Mr. Dinh and the village officials braved the wind and rain to visit each household to count the damage, encourage people to stabilize their mentality, and advise households at risk of landslides to move to a safe place. Regardless of the danger, he walked along flooded roads, bridges, and streams to promptly warn and help people avoid accidents.
Seeing many households in the village suffered heavy damage after the storm, most of them were poor households, he proactively called for support and organized two relief campaigns for the people.
The first phase helped 12 households affected by landslides, including distributing rice and essential necessities. In the second phase, he continued to mobilize support for households with necessities such as: rice, blankets, mosquito nets, cooking oil, instant noodles... totaling tens of millions of VND. Before that, he had mobilized nearly 10 million VND to repair the damaged suspension bridge, helping people travel more conveniently.
After working with the people of Na Lam village to overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives, many neighboring localities such as Vinh Thong, Van Lang, Kim Van... suffered even heavier damage, he continued to mobilize benefactors and connect with volunteer groups to bring gifts, necessities and support money to the people.
From the first households to receive help in Na Lam, that kindness gradually spread to other communes, becoming a spiritual support, helping people in flooded areas to reduce difficulties and soon stabilize their lives after the natural disaster.
In October alone, he coordinated with Bang Thanh Commune Police to call on a volunteer group to support 120 gifts worth 120 million VND for people in Lung Sien village, Vinh Thong commune. A week later, he connected with a volunteer group from Quang Ninh to bring 150 gifts, worth more than 170 million VND in total to Van Lang and Vinh Thong communes, including more than 2 tons of rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, medicine, blankets, books, and school supplies. He then mobilized more than 70 million VND to help people in the flooded Kim Van area, Van Lang commune.
Not only mobilizing relief, he also coordinated with local authorities and organizations to receive, classify, and distribute relief goods directly to people, ensuring the right beneficiaries, fairness, and transparency.
Currently, Mr. Dinh is still mobilizing support sources to build a 250-meter concrete road to Na Lam village, estimated to need about 30 million VND. He himself is taking on extra cleaning work at a school in the area, and he will contribute his wages to building the road with the locals. Mr. Luong Van Dinh Share: I am still healthy and can go, so I try to help. If people are in difficulty and I don't help, I feel very guilty.
