Can Tho City has implemented a comprehensive range of solutions, from exam preparation and student support to infrastructure, human resources, and security measures for the 2026 high school graduation exam.
Develop a suitable study plan.
According to the Can Tho City Department of Education and Training, this year, the entire city has 34,679 candidates registered to take the high school graduation exam. The city has established 80 official examination centers with 1,515 examination rooms, 33 waiting rooms, and 80 backup examination centers.
All examination venues are selected in isolated areas with convenient transportation, meeting all requirements regarding security, safety, and facilities as stipulated by regulations.
Right from the beginning of the school year, the city's Education Department proactively developed a review plan in line with the 2018 General Education Program; paying particular attention to classifying students to provide effective support solutions.
Schools organize review sessions into groups based on ability, provide extra tutoring for weak and underperforming students; and assign specific responsibilities to subject departments and subject teachers in monitoring and supporting students at risk of not meeting graduation requirements.
Along with consolidating knowledge, educational institutions are also promoting self-study guidance for students, increasing thematic practice, diversifying learning materials, and utilizing online learning methods to maintain effective exam preparation.
The review content is integrated with familiarizing students with the exam structure, practicing test-taking skills, time management, and exam-taking psychology, helping students confidently enter the official exam.
In order to help students choose exams and subjects that match their abilities and career aspirations, the Department of Education and Training has issued a document guiding the organization of the 2026 high school graduation mock exam throughout the province.
At the same time, the education sector directed schools to create conditions for 12th-grade students to participate in the 2026 Admissions and Career Guidance Fair at Can Tho University.
Through this, students gain access to information about the exam, university and college admission methods, and receive advice on choosing a career path that suits their abilities and strengths.
Creating the most favorable conditions for students.
Besides professional work, the city pays special attention to ensuring the conditions for organizing the exam. The City's Steering Committee for the 2026 High School Graduation Exam was established early, assigning specific tasks to each member and relevant department.
Detailed plans have been developed for each examination site to ensure security and order, traffic safety, food safety, fire prevention and control, healthcare, and uninterrupted power supply.
The education sector is working closely with the police force to ensure the security of exam papers, protect the printing, transportation, invigilation, and marking processes, and prevent cheating using high-tech equipment. The surveillance camera system in areas where exam papers and answer sheets are stored is thoroughly reviewed and checked before the exam.
In particular, the city continued to effectively implement the "Supporting Students During Exams" program, mobilizing youth union members to assist candidates at 80 examination sites. Many practical activities such as providing study materials, drinking water, transportation guidance, arranging accommodation and free meals for disadvantaged candidates were meticulously prepared; contributing to creating the most favorable conditions for them to confidently take the exams.
During his inspection tour of preparations for the 2026 high school graduation exam from June 1-2, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan acknowledged the proactive spirit and coordinated efforts of departments, agencies, and local authorities in Can Tho in implementing tasks to serve the exam.
The Deputy Minister requested that the city continue to carefully review all organizational aspects, ensuring absolute safety, seriousness, and adherence to regulations, creating the most favorable conditions for candidates. In particular, for independent candidates, the Organizing Committee will require them to sign a commitment not to violate exam regulations and not to bring technological devices into the examination room.
With comprehensive and thorough preparation, from professional work to ensuring necessary conditions, Can Tho is ready for the 2026 High School Graduation Examination, aiming to organize a safe, serious, fair examination and provide maximum convenience for more than 34,000 candidates in the area.
