Can Tho launches emulation movement to protect the environment.

(CT) - The People's Committee of Can Tho City has just issued Plan No. 186/KH-UBND launching a campaign to encourage all citizens to participate in environmental protection; minimizing waste generation, sorting, collecting, and processing waste for a bright, green, clean, and beautiful Vietnam in the city from 2026 to 2030.

The emulation targets include collectives and individuals from city departments, agencies, and branches; the City Police, the City Military Command; political and social organizations; businesses, production and trading establishments; Can Tho Newspaper and Radio and Television; and commune and ward People's Committees. The emulation content includes: promoting and raising awareness about environmental protection; building green, clean, and beautiful residential areas, agencies, and units associated with minimizing plastic waste; managing household solid waste; protecting rivers and canals; and addressing environmental pollution hotspots.

The City People's Committee requires that the emulation movement be practical, effective, and linked to the tasks of socio -economic development, building a civilized urban area, new rural areas, and environmental protection tasks of each agency, unit, and locality. Strengthen propaganda and mobilization efforts, and promote the role of political and social organizations and the people in participating in the movement.
