Over the past few days, on social media platforms, there have been many posts about images of boys wearing pink dresses. These are actually products created by artificial intelligence from a photo editing application.

When downloading this application, with just an original photo and a touch on the screen, users can easily combine their face into a new outfit through a pre-designed filter.

Because the output product is relatively realistic and humorous, the image of boys wearing pink dresses quickly became a trend shared across the internet.

However, besides the initial excitement, many people also expressed concern about the possibility that the images they provided could be exploited for bad purposes such as online fraud.

Recently, expert Vu Ngoc Son, Head of Technology Research of the National Cyber Security Association, warned that Internet users need to be careful when participating in this photo-creating trend.

According to Mr. Vu Ngoc Son, the trend of using apps to create funny or unique images can immediately attract users.

However, you need to be very careful because these types of applications will require access to the photo folder on the device. This is a very sensitive permission and the risk of personal data being leaked is very high.

With the development of AI today, images are very valuable data. AI can tell who a person is, what their interests are, where they often go, and even who they know, just through photos. Therefore, collecting photos and selling them to companies that exploit and use data is quite common ,” analyzed the Head of Technology Research of the National Cyber Security Association.

In the case of data being sold by the application, the immediate consequence is that users may receive many annoying advertisements. In the long term, this data can be exploited for other purposes such as fraud and blackmail.

Faced with the above risks, expert Vu Ngoc Son recommends that if users do not really know the origin of the application, they should not download this type of application.

Cyberspace is dangerous, but whether or not data is leaked depends partly on your own awareness ,” Mr. Son noted.
