On the construction site of component project 1 (Km0+000 – Km22+000) of the Quy Nhon – Pleiku expressway, the construction atmosphere is heating up day by day. With the spirit of "work commences as soon as land is handed over," many contractors and construction units have deployed multiple construction teams to bring the project to completion as soon as possible. Hundreds of personnel and equipment have been mobilized, organizing construction in "3 shifts, 4 teams," opening multiple teams simultaneously, determined to accelerate progress and bring the project into operation as soon as possible.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Duy Tri, a technical officer of Construction Company 510, said that the joint venture of Truong Son and Company 510, from the very beginning of the project, has deployed the best workers, the most modern machinery, and used the best materials to carry out the construction phases. The joint venture has deployed construction teams at locations where land is available, and is simultaneously developing access roads and service roads along the route to provide access to more construction teams. The construction teams are also focusing on simultaneously building the bridge and road to complete the project at least three months ahead of schedule, so that it can be put into service for the people as soon as possible, in accordance with the directives of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the first interchange construction site of the expressway, Minh Hieu General Construction Co., Ltd., the subcontractor responsible for the 2.3 km section, is simultaneously deploying seven construction teams, from embankment filling and weak soil treatment to weathering removal and prefabrication of precast components. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, a technical officer at Minh Hieu General Construction Co., Ltd., stated that the company currently employs over 30 pieces of equipment and approximately 50 workers. Despite rising fuel prices, the company maintains continuous construction without reducing machinery or personnel. Beyond regular working hours, the construction site continues to work overtime until 10 PM each day to ensure progress.
Meanwhile, at package XL.02 (Km12+000 – Km22+000), Phuc Loc Group Company is focusing on major bridge components. The Super T girder casting bed is basically complete and the first girder segment is expected to be cast on April 20, 2026. The bored pile foundations for the Ha Nhe Bridge, Song Kon Bridge, and temporary bridges across the river are also being accelerated to quickly establish the internal service road system. Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, Deputy Director of the XL.02 package management board, said that the Song Kon Bridge, with a length of over 1.1 km and comprising 28 spans, is the largest component of the project. For the initial construction phase, the contractor has mobilized all machinery and highly skilled personnel to work at locations with available land, ensuring progress and quality.

The Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway project is approximately 125 km long and consists of three component projects; of which component projects 1 and 3 have been started and are under construction. Currently, about 65% of the land has been handed over to the construction units. Approximately 500 households need to be relocated, therefore the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee has directed the relevant units to quickly develop resettlement areas to hand over the land to the construction units as soon as possible.
The project investor, the Gia Lai Provincial Project Management Board for Transportation and Civil Works, has requested contractors to proactively coordinate with local authorities to resolve obstacles, expedite material quarrying procedures, and encourage residents to hand over the remaining land area. The Project Management Board also requires construction units to maintain both on-site and internal personnel simultaneously, complete construction method documentation, and implement traffic safety plans at intersections. Furthermore, the installation of surveillance cameras for material extraction and transportation must be strictly carried out in accordance with regulations.

Upon completion, the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway is expected to shorten travel time to 1.5-2 hours, reduce transportation costs by 40-50%, and address safety risks on the An Khe and Mang Yang passes. Once completed, this expressway will connect East and West, opening up new development opportunities and creating a strong growth impetus for Gia Lai and the entire region.
