Accordingly, at around 12:20 p.m. on August 21, the patient was admitted to Truong Sa Island Infirmary in a state of severe pain, red eyes, watery eyes, and difficulty seeing. Doctors at the infirmary quickly examined and diagnosed that the patient had corneal and conjunctival injuries in both eyes due to a battery explosion, with a risk of vision loss.
Fisherman Nguyen Thuong had his eyes washed with 0.9% NaCl solution by doctors on the island, given antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, pain relievers and closely monitored.

The timely emergency care provided by the Truong Sa Island Infirmary not only contributes to protecting the health and lives of fishermen but also affirms the important role of the military medical force on the front line. The infirmary is always a reliable support for officers, soldiers and fishermen operating at sea, demonstrating the close bond between the army and the people.
The dedication of the medical team on Truong Sa island has given fishermen confidence to stay at sea and go out to sea, while also contributing to affirming the determination to firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
