Doctors at the infirmary quickly examined and diagnosed that the patient had corneal and conjunctival injuries in both eyes due to a battery explosion, with a risk of vision loss.
Fisherman Nguyen Thuong had his eyes washed with 0.9% NaCl solution by doctors on the island, given antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, pain relievers and closely monitored.
