[Update] - Implementation of financial tasks

On the afternoon of December 31st, the Ministry of Finance held a nationwide online conference to summarize the state financial and budgetary work in 2024 and to implement tasks for 2025. Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, attended and delivered a keynote address at the conference.

As of December 27, 2024, state budget revenue reached VND 1,977.3 trillion, equivalent to 117.4% of the projected target. Of this, domestic revenue reached 115.2% of the projected target, revenue from crude oil reached 126.2% of the projected target, and revenue from import and export activities reached 134.2% of the projected target.

The Ministry of Finance has directed tax and customs agencies to focus on aggressively implementing revenue collection efforts from the final days of the year, urging the full and timely collection of outstanding amounts, amounts whose extensions have expired, and amounts due based on conclusions and recommendations of the State Inspectorate and State Audit Office... Striving to achieve an estimated annual revenue of 2,025.4 trillion VND, an increase of 19.1% compared to the budget estimate and a 15.5% increase compared to the 2023 figures.

Along with the results of state budget revenue collection, thanks to proactive management, state budget expenditure tasks in 2024 basically met the set targets. Total state budget expenditure as of December 31, 2024 is estimated at approximately VND 1,830.8 billion, equivalent to 86.4% of the projected budget.

The results of state budget revenue and expenditure have contributed to ensuring the balance of the central and local budgets. It is estimated that in 2024, the state budget deficit (including the recovery program) will be approximately 3.4% of GDP, a decrease of 10,000 billion VND compared to the projected figure.

During the year, the Ministry of Finance focused on directing its units to accelerate digital transformation, modernization, and the application of information technology in the field of financial and state budget management.
