The intense heat in recent days has led to a surge in demand for cooling devices such as air conditioners, evaporative coolers, and rechargeable fans. In Thanh Hoa, the market for these cooling products is particularly vibrant, with demand increasing in line with the weather.

For the past two weeks, the increasingly hot weather has stimulated demand for cooling equipment in the province. At supermarkets and electronics stores, the number of shoppers has increased significantly, especially on weekends.

Over the past two days, Saturday and Sunday, the Dien May Xanh Phu Son store in Hac Thanh ward saw a twofold increase in customers purchasing cooling equipment compared to previous weeks. Customers mainly bought air conditioners and evaporative coolers to cope with the rising temperatures. As a result, the store's sales volume for the week increased by 100%.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh Long, Manager of Dien May Xanh Phu Son store, said: “This year's weather is extremely hot, so right from the beginning of the season, the number of customers buying cooling equipment has increased compared to previous years. Consumers tend to look for more energy-saving products. Therefore, our store has also increased the import of inverter air conditioners, low-power air coolers, and cooling machines with energy-saving technology to serve customers.”

This year, the market for cooling equipment remains dominated by air conditioners, evaporative coolers, air coolers, rechargeable fans, etc. Surveys of major electronics supermarkets in the province such as HC, Nguyen Kim, Dien May Xanh, and several dealers and stores show that sales of cooling equipment reached their highest level since the beginning of the season last week, doubling compared to the same period last year.

Prices for these items are relatively stable, with no price fluctuations compared to last year, thanks to strong competition among distributors. For example, single-direction air conditioners with a capacity of 9,000–12,000 BTU currently cost from 5 to 7 million VND for budget brands; high-end brands cost from 8.5 million to 15 million VND for consumers who prioritize durability and stability. Air coolers and evaporative coolers are priced from 1.8 to 5 million VND; evaporative coolers range from 1.6 to 6 million VND, with many price segments to suit different family incomes.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien from Hac Thanh ward shared: "Although my family already has two air conditioners, due to the hot weather, we had to buy an additional evaporative cooler to use alongside them. The products are diverse, with many affordable models, making it easy for consumers to choose according to their needs."

To support and stimulate consumer spending, supermarkets and electronics stores are launching a series of promotional programs to gain a competitive advantage, such as discounts of up to 50%; free materials and installation; 0% installment payments, etc. In addition to direct sales, supermarkets are increasing online sales and home delivery, assisting customers with transportation during the hot weather.

Anticipating a prolonged hot summer with temperatures significantly higher than the multi-year average, electronics retailers are increasing their imports of cooling equipment to serve customers. They are focusing on energy-efficient, durable, safe-to-use models at reasonable prices to meet the needs of the majority of consumers.
