Accordingly, in recent days, in key durian-growing areas in Dong Thap , Vinh Long, etc., traders have started buying more actively after a period of market stagnation.

According to reports, high-quality Ri6 durian is currently being purchased by traders at 45,000-60,000 VND/kg, an increase of about 10,000-15,000 VND/kg compared to last week. For the Monthong (Dona) variety, prices range from 70,000-85,000 VND/kg depending on quality and region.
In Vinh Thanh commune, Vinh Long province, Mr. Nguyen Van Mach, a long-time durian farmer, said that the improved durian prices have helped ease some of the pressure on farmers. However, the current price is still not high enough to cover investment costs.
"The price increase is encouraging news for farmers, but in reality, the profit is still not significant. Farmers are still hoping for a more stable market so they can confidently take care of their orchards," Mr. Mach shared.
According to Mr. Vo Tan Loi, Chairman of the Dong Thap Province Durian Association, the increase in durian prices is mainly due to positive signals from the export market, especially the purchasing activities for export to China.
In addition, many businesses have proactively linked up with raw material sources, tightened production processes, ensured traceability, and controlled quality to meet market demands. According to Mr. Loi, although the increase is not significant, this is a welcome sign after a long period of sharp declines in durian prices. However, farmers still need to focus on producing according to standards, ensuring fruit quality and using registered growing areas to maintain stable output.
