HueDuring heavy rain, a phoenix tree with a diameter of more than 40 cm in Hue City uprooted, injuring two motorcyclists, on the evening of May 12.
Around 18:40 pm, two men riding motorbikes on Tran Hung Dao Street, Dong Ba Ward, were hit by a tree about 7 m high.
Many passersby hurriedly stopped their vehicles to help bring the injured to Hue Central Hospital, about 700 meters away.

The phoenix tree was uprooted, the roots were rotten, the branches were trimmed in advance. After the accident, the tree trunk was blocking half of the roadway. Hue Green Park Center sent forces to prune trees and find out information about victims.
On May 12, Thua Thien Hue rained 5-15 mm, in some places more than 40 mm. When the tree was uprooted, Hue city also rained and thunderstorms, some roads were flooded.

Hue is considered a green city with more than 65.000 street trees. After the storm in 2020 broke more than 10.000 trees, Hue Green Park Center has planned to replant.
