The Hanoi Department of Health recently summarized its work on hospital quality management and conducted surveys on patient and healthcare worker satisfaction in 2022.
Accordingly, in order to assess hospital quality and survey patient and healthcare worker satisfaction, the Hanoi Department of Health established a team last year to inspect and evaluate hospital quality and survey patient and healthcare worker satisfaction. The team conducted inspections and evaluations based on the set of 83 criteria for evaluating hospital quality.
Hospital rating is a regular activity (illustrative image).
A total of 66 out of 83 hospitals (79.5%) have been inspected, evaluated, and re-inspected. This includes 40 out of 41 public hospitals; 26 out of 42 private hospitals; and 1 out of 1 hospital under a ministry or sector.
The inspection results show that, in order to improve patient-centered quality and contribute to patient satisfaction, hospitals have invested in renovating, upgrading, and modernizing facilities to better serve patients, from outpatient clinics to clinical departments, with fully equipped rooms and facilities.
The landscape and environment of most hospitals have improved significantly. Many hospitals have ensured adequate green spaces, flower gardens, lawns, fountains, etc., creating a clean, green, and safe environment for patients.
Hospitals are also stepping up administrative reforms, applying information technology, and digitizing examination processes to reduce patient waiting times and ensure transparency in the payment of medical expenses.
Based on the inspection and evaluation results, the team noted that 10 hospitals had the highest quality ratings: Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Thanh Nhan Hospital, Xanh Pon General Hospital, Hanoi Heart Hospital, Ha Dong General Hospital, Duc Giang General Hospital; Vinmec International General Hospital, Tam Anh General Hospital, Thu Cuc International General Hospital, and Viet-French Hanoi Hospital.
In addition, five hospitals received low quality ratings. The delegation also provided feedback to help these units overcome difficulties and shortcomings, strive for innovation, and improve hospital quality to better serve the medical examination and treatment needs.
