Caring for female workers through simple things.

From March 2026, many female workers, civil servants, and laborers in Thai Nguyen province will receive free prenatal checkups, 5D ultrasounds integrated with artificial intelligence, and maternity counseling at Hospital A, helping them feel more secure on their journey to motherhood.

On weekends, the Center for Prenatal and Neonatal Screening and Diagnosis (Hospital A) welcomes a large number of female workers and employees who come for free prenatal checkups as part of a program in collaboration between the Provincial Labor Union and Hospital A.

At 35 weeks pregnant, Ms. Dang Thi Thao, from Hamlet 6, Dong Hy Commune, came for a free check-up. An ultrasound revealed a breech presentation accompanied by polyhydramnios. After receiving thorough counseling, she understood the potential risks during labor.

According to Dr. Pham Van Tien Cuong from the Center for Prenatal and Neonatal Screening and Diagnosis, during the implementation of the program, many abnormalities were detected early. One pregnant woman, only 12 weeks into her pregnancy, had an ultrasound that revealed a risk of birth defects due to increased nuchal translucency, and was advised to undergo further specialized tests.

According to incomplete statistics, from March 2026 to the present, the Center has received an average of 10-20 female workers each week for free check-ups under the program. While these numbers may not be large, they are gradually spreading the practical significance, helping female workers access high-quality healthcare services and feel more secure during pregnancy.

The collaborative program between the Provincial Labor Union and Hospital A for the period 2026-2030 is being implemented with the goal of creating the most favorable conditions for female workers to receive reproductive health care and access safe, quality, and free maternity services.

According to the program, local trade unions will compile a list of female union members who are pregnant or of childbearing age to coordinate with Hospital A to organize examinations and consultations. Each pregnant woman will receive three free prenatal check-ups during her pregnancy, including clinical examination, 5D color Doppler ultrasound with integrated artificial intelligence, and in-depth consultation.

In addition to in-person check-ups, the program also organizes prenatal classes, online consultations, and maintains a 24/7 support hotline. This is particularly suitable for female shift workers, who often find it difficult to schedule check-ups during regular working hours.

Dr. Nguyen Tri Toa, Director of the Center for Prenatal and Neonatal Screening and Diagnosis, said: "All pregnant women participating in the program receive full examinations, ultrasounds, and consultations according to professional procedures. Although free of charge, professional quality is always prioritized."

What is particularly valuable is that today's program is not a completely new beginning, but a continuation of the journey of supporting female workers that Hospital A has quietly undertaken for many years. Throughout those decades of support, Hospital A has provided free examinations, ultrasounds, and consultations to thousands of pregnant female workers in the province.

This activity not only helps detect many high-risk cases early, but also contributes to raising awareness about reproductive health care in the community; helping many families have better conditions to protect the health of mothers and babies from the early months of pregnancy. It's not just about healthcare, but also about sharing the pressures that female workers face amidst the demands of work and life.
