Caring for the vulnerable

In recent years, the welfare of vulnerable groups has received special attention from all levels, sectors, and localities in the province. Many social welfare programs have been implemented, contributing to improving the lives of vulnerable groups.

Over the past period, the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and the Protection of Children's Rights has effectively implemented many programs to support people with disabilities, orphans, and children in difficult circumstances.

Educational support activities are carried out regularly through programs such as "Hope for Children" and "Helping Poor Students Overcome Difficulties to Succeed". Hundreds of students have received scholarships worth 5-6.3 million VND/academic year until they complete their high school program.

In addition, the Association also mobilized sponsors to award scholarships to 360 disadvantaged students, donated bicycles to 70 students with a total cost of over 1.6 billion VND, and organized activities and distributed gifts at schools to 430 students, with a total value of nearly 900 million VND.

Livelihood support activities play a crucial role in helping vulnerable people stabilize their lives, develop their abilities, gain confidence, and gradually integrate into and contribute positively to the community. Therefore, the Association has provided capital support to 24 people with disabilities totaling 230 million VND; coordinated online sales training for 61 people with disabilities; and provided equipment support to 20 trainees worth 140 million VND.

Thanks to the promotion of social mobilization, during the period 2021-2025, the Association has raised more than 8.9 billion VND to care for people with disabilities and disadvantaged children in the area.

Through the activities of the Association, along with the involvement of local authorities at all levels and the collective efforts of the whole society, many disadvantaged people have overcome difficulties and developed their potential.

For example, Ms. Le Thi Dan Anh, residing in Thanh Xuyen 4 residential area, Trung Thanh ward, is a person with a mobility disability but is always diligent in her studies, achieving excellent student status for many years in a row and even participating in a computer science competition in Dubai (India). Currently, Ms. Dan Anh is working in the field of AI data at AI WORKX Company in Hanoi .

Mr. Vu Van Mao, Chairman of the Provincial Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Protection of Children's Rights, said: The Association has implemented comprehensive support programs in healthcare , education, and livelihoods to help them gradually improve their lives and integrate into the community, contributing to building a just and humane society. The goal is to help every person with a disability, orphan, or vulnerable child live a full life, have the opportunity to be independent, and develop their abilities.

Thanks to their own tireless efforts and the timely care and support from the Association, the government, and society as a whole, many disadvantaged people have overcome difficulties and confidently affirmed their value and dreams.
