The Moc Chau District Labor Union has 3,159 members, operating in 72 grassroots trade unions. To promote its role in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members and workers, the District Labor Union has implemented many practical and effective activities; extensively promoting emulation movements, creating motivation to help members and workers feel secure in their work.

Mr. Tran Chinh Chien, Chairman of the Moc Chau District Labor Union, said: Every year, the District Labor Union directs its affiliated grassroots unions to coordinate with their counterparts in the professional departments to organize conferences for officials, civil servants, and employees; 98% of enterprises organize employee conferences, and coordinate well in organizing dialogue conferences with enterprises that have labor unions. At the same time, it strengthens inspection and supervision of the implementation of policies and regulations for workers, such as policies on wage management, employee welfare, and funds contributed by workers. 100% of non-state enterprises with labor unions have signed commitments to ensure the rights and obligations between the two parties in accordance with the law on labor and employment.
Promoting democracy in the development of the agency, the Trade Union of Moc Chau town has proactively advised the Party Committee, coordinated with the People's Committee of the town and other organizations to direct, guide, propagate, and mobilize cadres, union members, and workers to effectively implement the grassroots democracy regulations in conjunction with organizing emulation movements, creating momentum to promote the successful implementation of the political tasks of agencies, units, and localities. The Trade Union of Moc Chau District General Hospital is a prime example of the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" emulation movement, linked with the implementation of Directive No. 05/CT-TW of the Politburo on "Promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style."
Mr. Ngo Trong Trung, Chairman of the Trade Union of Moc Chau General Hospital, reported: The hospital's trade union has 225 members, organized into 18 union branches. Union members and employees actively participate in scientific research, with many valuable research projects contributing to practical management and professional practice, helping to reduce patient referrals to higher-level hospitals and lower treatment costs for patients. From 2018 to the present, union members have researched and implemented 25 new techniques in treatment; participated in 92 scientific projects recognized by the Department of Health at the grassroots level; had 3 provincial-level initiatives and 4 projects participating in the Son La Provincial Technical Innovation Competition. These scientific research projects and the application of new techniques in practice have contributed to reducing average medical examination and treatment costs by 1 billion VND per year.
To effectively represent and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, the District Labor Union Executive Committee annually directs grassroots trade unions to organize and implement coordinated welfare programs for union members and workers. In coordination with the Social Insurance Agency, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Inspectorate, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district, they inspect and supervise 50 units regarding the implementation of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance schemes; wages and salaries of workers; occupational safety and health; the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations; and policies for workers and employees. They also coordinate with the District People's Committee to organize activities in response to the National Week on Occupational Safety and Health and Fire Prevention... Over the past five years, the District Labor Union has organized five occupational safety and health training courses with 361 union members participating. The organization conducted 3 fire prevention and control training courses with 172 union members participating; organized 96 awareness campaigns on occupational safety, fire prevention and control, and World Environment Day with 210,240 union members and workers participating and sharing on social media. The Provincial Labor Union requested support for repairing and building "Union Shelter" houses for 13 union members in difficult circumstances, totaling 390 million VND; and distributed 616 gifts from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Provincial Labor Union to union members in difficult circumstances or suffering from serious illnesses during the Lunar New Year, totaling over 610 million VND.
With the motto "Innovation - Democracy - Unity - Development for the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers; for the rapid, comprehensive, and sustainable development of Moc Chau district," the Moc Chau District Labor Union continues to strive to effectively fulfill its functions and duties in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights of union members and workers.
