Ranked 7th in the list announced on May 15, porridge with offal is Taste Atlas described as "an attractive, affordable dish loved by people all over Vietnam".
"Each region will have a different way of preparing it, but basically this porridge is cooked from rice and pork bone broth combined with many different types of pig organs such as liver, kidney, spleen, stomach or heart.
Porridge is always served hot. People also often eat it with fried breadsticks, green onions and chili powder. Bean sprouts, lemon, raw vegetables, fish sauce and ginger are usually served separately. Depending on preference, diners can also eat pig's blood," the website shared.
Previously, this Vietnamese porridge dish was also Taste Atlas listed in the 100 best street foods in Southeast Asia.
In addition, in the list of 33 best porridge dishes in Asia, Vietnam also has other representatives such as beef porridge (18th), duck porridge (22nd) and chicken porridge (25th).
