"I took a sleeper bus to Mu Cang Chai the night before, and it took me 6 hours to reach Mu Cang Chai town. This morning I woke up early to go to La Pan Tan to admire the to daylily flowers. My first feeling upon arriving here was 'oh, it's so relaxing,' all the sadness and stress from work seemed to disappear without me even realizing it. Besides admiring the flowers, I also got to experience the culture of the Hmong people, seeing the women standing by the roadside embroidering in the sun was wonderful," Ms. Ngoc Linh smiled. Indeed, the weather in Mu Cang Chai these days is truly captivating. The golden sunshine and clear blue sky dispel the 3°C chill of the highlands. There's no ripening rice, nor is it the rainy season, but spring in Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai) still enchants people with the pure colors of the to daylily flowers.

The "tớ dày" flower, also known as "pằng tớ dày," is the Hmong peach blossom. This flower usually blooms at the end of December each year, and its blooming period lasts only about a month. This year, however, the "tớ dày" bloomed early, starting in mid-December, and many trees are now in vibrant pink, adding a touch of spring to the Hmong villages. For the Hmong people in Mù Cang Chải, this flower signals the early arrival of spring as they prepare their farming tools for the new season. This year, the "tớ dày" bloomed precisely when the temperature in Mù Cang Chải was only around 3 degrees Celsius, making each petal even more intensely colored. Trống Tông village in La Pán Tẩn commune is where the "tớ dày" flowers bloom most beautifully and romantically, their petals weaving through the villages and scattering pink across the mountain slopes.

From Mu Cang Chai town, visitors can turn on their GPS and follow Google Maps to the village. Before reaching La Pan Tan, visitors will pass through Mam Xoi Hill. This season, Mam Xoi Hill doesn't have the green and yellow colors of rice, but the brown color of the soil evokes the majestic beauty of the mountains and forests. Following the winding concrete road, visitors will gradually encounter a few vibrant rose bushes along the roadside, but don't stop yet; the deeper you go into Trong Tong village, the more abundant and beautiful the flowers will become.

Visiting Mu Cang Chai for the first time in spring, Ms. Ha Thu Thuy ( from Phu Tho province ) was amazed by its beauty. "Unlike the pictures on social media, being in Mu Cang Chai during this season allowed me to truly appreciate the tranquility of the place. The flowers are beautiful, everything is still pristine, making my experience even more complete," Ms. Thuy shared.

In Mu Cang Chai, the wild jasmine flowers grow naturally, some on the hillsides, others adorning the traditional houses of the Hmong people. But what's special is that the jasmine only grows and blooms at altitudes above 1,000 meters above sea level, and the colder the weather, the more beautiful the flowers. Having visited Mu Cang Chai four times, Mr. Dao Trung Hai still wants to stay forever in every season. "The jasmine flowering season has a very unique beauty; the air feels vibrant and invigorating. Mu Cang Chai is quite cold at this time of year, and the journey and routes aren't too difficult, but if it's your first time, you should hire a local guide for the best experience," Mr. Hai said.

Besides beautifying the villages, in recent years the "tớ dày" flower has also brought a new source of income to the Mong people every spring. Equipped with a drone and camera, Trang A Tong – a local guide – is helping tourists capture beautiful moments with the "tớ dày" flower. The cost for a day of experiencing and taking photos at various check-in points in Mu Cang Chai is only about 700,000 VND. Tong said that this year the flowers bloomed early, from mid-December. Besides La Pan Tan, tourists can also admire the "tớ dày" flowers in Hang Gang village (Lao Chai commune) and My Hang village (Mo De commune). In addition, visiting corn fields and bamboo forests is also a very interesting experience for tourists.
