Ta Teng Hamlet Party Cell actively mobilizes people to build new rural areas

The national target program on new rural construction is a major policy of the Party and the State. In recent years, the Party Cell of Ta Teng Hamlet (Giang Thanh Commune, An Giang Province) has identified new rural construction as the top priority task and has actively promoted and mobilized people to implement it.

Mobilizing people to develop the economy

Determining to build new rural areas to improve people's lives, Ta Teng Hamlet Party Cell has stepped up propaganda to unite people, promote internal strength, and strive to complete the criteria. Party Cell Secretary and Head of Ta Teng Hamlet Tran Van Tinh said: "The hamlet has a large Khmer population, and life is still difficult, so we should focus on mobilizing people to promote the conversion of crop and livestock structure to improve income and family life."

Mr. Tien Que (born in 1996, residing in group 4) is a typical young man of Ta Teng hamlet. He is always enthusiastic about business to improve his family's life. With 2 hectares of rice land, 2 breeding cows, 4 breeding goats... his family's income is up to 100 million VND/year. Mr. Que said that the Party cell and the hamlet leadership regularly meet and encourage him to actively work and produce to increase his income, and at the same time encourage him to participate in local movements to join hands in building new rural areas.

With 1 hectare of agricultural land and 4 breeding cows, along with a dedication to developing the family economy, Ms. Thi Sam's family (born in 1992) escaped poverty many years ago. "My husband and I have 2 children, the older one is in 10th grade, the younger one is in 4th grade. The family tries hard to do business and develop the economy so that the children can have a proper education," Ms. Sam shared.

Ta Teng Hamlet has 2,200 hectares of land for two-crop rice cultivation, with an average yield of 6.5 tons/hectare; 33 hectares of land for growing fruit trees and vegetables. The livestock and poultry herd reaches 6,147 heads, including 850 buffaloes and cows; 173 pigs and 5,124 chickens and ducks.

Party Cell Secretary, Head of Ta Teng Hamlet Tran Van Tinh said, the goal of building new rural areas is to use the people's strength to care for the people and the way to do it is that the people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people check, the people supervise, and the people benefit. The Party Cell discussed very carefully and agreed on the roadmap, implementation methods, and criteria of doing easy things first and difficult things later.

“Propaganda and mobilization work are given top priority. To implement this policy, as the Party cell secretary, I and the Party members in the hamlet go to each house to propagate and clearly explain the benefits when people join hands to build new rural areas and participate in patriotic emulation movements so that people understand and actively participate,” said Party cell secretary and head of Ta Teng hamlet Tran Van Tinh.

Rural appearance is improving

Through propaganda and mobilization, Ta Teng Hamlet Party Cell has created consensus, mobilized a large number of people to participate and achieved many important results, typically implementing a 3km long Nong Truong canal flower road; building 180 national flagpoles; mobilizing sponsors to implement a 3.5km long solar energy road including 119 lamp posts, costing more than 299 million VND, contributing to ensuring safety for people when traveling at night.

Up to now, the inter-hamlet rural roads have been basically concreted and hardened, serving well the travel and agricultural product transportation needs of the people, especially in the rainy season. The rate of households using safe electricity is over 98%. People's lives are getting better day by day, many households have risen up to develop the economy. Currently, the hamlet has only 11 poor and near-poor households, accounting for 3.4%.

Ta Teng Hamlet also focuses on preserving traditional cultural identity, building a healthy spiritual life, regularly monitoring the situation, aspirations, and lives of local people. The entire hamlet has 312/320 households achieving the title of cultural family; the hamlet has been recognized as a cultural hamlet for many consecutive years.

In 2023, Ta Teng Hamlet Party Cell was awarded a certificate of merit by the Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee for its outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle. This is the result of joint efforts and consensus, a testament to the spirit of solidarity and efforts to overcome difficulties of the Party Committee, government and all the people in the hamlet.

Promoting the achieved results, cadres, party members and people of Ta Teng hamlet continue to maintain and improve the new rural criteria, contributing to building this countryside to become more and more prosperous...
