Farewell to My Dinh Stadium

According to the draw for the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, the Vietnamese national team is in Group F with Malaysia, Nepal, and Laos. Matches will be held during FIFA Days, from March 25, 2025 to March 31, 2026. Initially, the Vietnamese team will play two home matches in the first leg: their opening match against Laos on March 25, followed by a match against Nepal on October 9. Prior to that, the Vietnamese team will also play an international friendly match against Cambodia on March 19.

No longer familiar venues like My Dinh National Stadium or Thien Truong "cauldron," coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will be playing at a "new home" for their warm-up friendly match and the first leg of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Accordingly, Binh Duong Stadium (home of Binh Duong FC) has been chosen.

Regarding the Bình Dương stadium being the home ground for the Vietnamese national team in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, on the morning of February 14th, representatives from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held a meeting with representatives from the Bình Dương Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Bình Dương Provincial Football Federation, and Bình Dương Club. During the meeting, VFF representatives and local agencies focused on discussing organizational matters, particularly ensuring adequate facilities, security, logistics, and technical requirements according to AFC standards. The meeting also reached an agreement on related items between the VFF and the local organizing committee, in preparation for the AFC's site visit to Bình Dương, which will take place from February 19th to 21st.

VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu emphasized the importance of the Vietnamese national team's home matches. Not only are these matches crucial for the team's qualification for the 2027 Asian Cup finals, but they also provide an opportunity for the team to connect more closely with fans across the country. Mr. Phu expressed confidence that, with the support of the leadership, Binh Duong will fully meet the AFC's requirements and standards for organizing the 2027 Asian Cup qualifying matches.
