In his role as Global Director of Football for the Red Bull system, Jurgen Klopp continues to demonstrate his power and decisiveness by making his second managerial change in just one week.

Klopp is responsible for the strategic direction and personnel management of the entire Red Bull system.

After leaving Liverpool, Klopp took on the responsibility of overseeing all the teams under the Red Bull group, including Paris FC – a struggling team languishing at the bottom of Ligue 1, currently sitting 15th in the table. And when their survival in the league was threatened, drastic measures were taken.

Coach Stephane Gilli's contract was terminated on February 22nd. Notably, this move came shortly after Klopp publicly expressed his support for the French manager amidst increasing pressure. However, facing the threat of relegation, the Red Bull management chose to make a change to salvage the situation.

A statement from Paris FC acknowledged Gilli's significant contributions since taking over the club in 2023, particularly his achievement in bringing the club back to Ligue 1. However, his recent decline in form means his position is no longer secure.

This is the second manager to lose his job under Klopp in just a few days. Previously, Thomas Letsch was also sacked at Red Bull Salzburg, despite only taking charge at the beginning of 2025.

In his senior managerial role, Klopp doesn't directly coach but is responsible for strategic direction and personnel management for the entire system. His successive decisions demonstrate that the former Liverpool manager didn't take long to establish his mark and authority.

For Klopp, results and ultimate goals are always the top priority, even if it means discarding options he once trusted.
