In a video posted on Instagram, the 37-year-old striker declared that women should focus on "creating value for the family" by "cleaning, reproducing and maintaining the lineage". Chicharito also said that women are making society "overly sensitive".

In the video, the former Manchester United striker said: "Women, you are failing. You are erasing masculinity by making society more sensitive."

Chicharito also encouraged women to "embrace feminine energy" and stressed that the home is "the most precious place for men".

The Mexican striker's shocking statements were quickly criticized by the online community. One social media user commented: "This video really makes me crazy. Just thinking about honoring women reduces their value to just taking care of the house."

Another said: "You're letting me down." Another wrote: "It's sad to see you like this, please stop."

Chicharito divorced model Sarah Kohan four years ago. Sarah was rumored to have had an affair with Diego Dreyfus, a friend of Chicharito's. However, she immediately denied it.

"I want to make one thing clear, I haven't been with anyone else, physically or emotionally, since I met Javier," Sarah said.
