
According to the organizers, the program aims to introduce representative Vietnamese and Swedish films on children's themes, while also strengthening cultural exchange and cooperation between the two countries through cinema. The film week also aims to educate children's aesthetics, nurture their souls, and inspire their creativity through works rich in humanistic values.
The opening ceremony was held on the morning of June 1st with various activities and screenings of two opening films: the Vietnamese animated film "The Fox Gets What He Deserves" directed by Le Minh Hien and the Swedish feature film "Pippi Longstocking" directed by Olle Hellbom.
Over the course of the five-day event, young audiences will enjoy 14 works, including 11 Vietnamese animated films and 3 feature films from Swedish cinema. Many familiar works will be introduced, such as "The Story of Giong ," "The Talking Magpie ," "The Kitten , " "Ronja - The Bandit's Daughter ," "The Lion Brothers, " and more.
In addition to film screenings, Kim Dong Publishing House will introduce the Vietnamese translations of the famous Pippi comic book series by author Astrid Lindgren, including: Do You Know Pippi ?, Pippi Goes Shopping , Pippi on the Wonderland , and Pippi Saves Christmas .
The event also featured quizzes based on the movie Pippi Longstocking, aiming to provide a fun and educational experience for children.
